    MacBook Pro Newbie Issues

    I recently purchased a 13" MacBook Pro. 2.53 model.
I'm somewhat new to the Mac world..

Simply put, so far I have 2 issues.

    1) Any USB mouse is jumpy and horribly imprecise. It's unusable.

    2) Bad picture using external LCD
I've tried my 22" Samsung SyncMaster225BW and the new 24" Dell UltraSharp (the one that gets all the rave reviews) THe picture just doesn't look good. I've tried "calibrating"

Is there something simple I'm missing with these two issues?

    Thanks for the help. :)

Dell Fanboy -- why? Because I've never had an issue. Period.

i dont know how to help you with the mouse, except make sure it's mac compatible.

as for the lcd, how does the picture look bad? is it big and pixely?

in that case i suggest a higher resolution, usually 24 and 22 inch monitors have a native resolution of 1680 by 1050 or 1600 by 1200  depending on the aspect ratio, so try those resolutions,

also are you using DVI or VGA to connect to your macbook pro?

    hope that helps

Hey  man I have the EXACT same screen you do...

I have mine running through a dvi connection (you might have to go buy a dvi converter)...

You want your resolution to be set at 1600*1050

    I lovez the internetzzz

no need for DVI converter, you need to resolution.

USB- can be OS fault, try to repair it if Apple give you any OS X disc
