PCLinuxOS LXDE (PCLXDE) 2009 is for older computers or new ones with low powered specs. Includes wireless support in a 313 MB self-booting/installable Live CD. With the later option of a myriad of software/drivers updates available through the Synaptic.

For download:   PCLinuxOS LXDE (PCLXDE) 2009

You're welcome. For the record, I convinced my neighbor to let me try it on her old Gateway (Pentium II, 192 MB RAM, 13GBG HDD) it runs pretty well. I installed Firefox 3.5 and Smplayer, she's pretty happy with it. She only uses it for internet and basic stuff.

The LXDE version is good for those who wants something out of the box.

However, I prefer the Minime 2009. (just 298MB self-booting/installable Live CD) It can be download from here

It's more cuter and faster, the basic PCLinuxOS to be customized to our own taste, so I made my own remaster. One of the great things it comes with is the possibility to make your own version with only a couple of clicks. Just use  Synaptic to install any other program you might want, or uninstall the one you don't want. I don't like the new  Update Notifier feature, so it's the first thing I uninstall. I customized  the desktop, installed my favorite Firefox add-ons, imported my bookmarks from a saved html file, and any other little thing I can think of.  All these  steps  before  the  remaster, which will   be an  exact  copy of the installation, that it will become my own self-booting/installable Live CD, or DVD; it's usually too big for a CD.  One word  of  caution,  don't  do  anything  you  don't  want  to  be  preserved  in  a  disc  before  it.  I, for  example, don't like  passwords  to  be saved on the remaster, and sometimes no even the bookmarks. Because I'll be using this disc to do other installs.
