I am looking for a digital camera with changable lens's. I want to be able to shot shoots for say 1/2 mile away. I live on a river and want to shot wild life. would like to be able to use 600 mm plus lens's. anyone have sugestions?

Look at the DSLR's from Canon and Nikon. Be prepared to spend in the 1000's for it.

When I search for DSLR's Camera I just  get the lens. I need a camera that can hold the lens. Is ther another term for the mamera?

Wow took me 2 seconds to find all the dslr's on the egg. Guess I am abit more tuned into how the egg lists things.

Anyways there are all the dslr's there for you.

I use Nikon DSLR's.

Note that the lenses may cost as much or more than the camera; it's an expensive hobby.

D60, D80, D90, D200, D300, etc.

check out dpreview.com to read reviews on these but you cant go wrong with just picking one in your budget. They are all good.

I've got a 4 year old Canon Rebel XT, and I love it. I think the XSi is about $500, maybe 600 or 650 with a basic lens. IronMan77 is right: it gets pretty expensive. But I love photography and love my camera so the price is worth it. Check out this site for product reviews and info. Wired.com also has a lot of good reviews of new products. I personally prefer Canon, but some people prefer Nikon; these two companies are the leaders.
