The Greatest Adventure Game of All Time

Hi gamers,

I am asking this question here for my bf. He is very much interested in adventure games all the way and is putting lots of money on King's Quest, so now I want to ask on his behalf that what, in your opinion, is the greatese adventure game of all time?

Monkey Island (same answer as favourite game thread). My preference would go with number 2, then number 3, then number 1... didn't really like the 4th one.
