    Are these CPU temps normal?

You can see my system in my signature. I am measuring them using Easytune 6 directly from Gigabytes website.

     CPU: 80 F (Big Smile??)

    System: 95 F

Ambient temps are around 79 F.  Seems way too cool to me...or is my aftermarket cooler in the E7400 just that good?

If Easytune is not an accurate, does anyone have any other good CPU/GPU monitoring software for free out there?

That's normal. The e7400 is a very cool running CPU, and i'm not sure what cooler you're using, but the temps seem fine.

Also, if you want a more reliable temp monitor, try CoreTemp, which taps the thermal sensor embedded in the CPU core itself:

Re: Are these CPU temps normal?

If you are using a 45nm cpu then the monitor will be wrong. Use CoreTemps or Real Temps with a TJmax of 95C

Run folding@home, that'll cook it up a bit..

    Onboard RAID vs. 3Ware RAID

I never recommend people run RAID-5 with onboard chipsets.

    jay472005:

     CPU: 80 F

    System: 95 F

Those numbers actually could be right. If those are idle speeds. BTW nobody uses Fahrenheit they all use Celsius.

Here is a real good system monitor program that will show you everything, Temps, volts and fan speeds.

Re: Are these CPU temps normal?

Okay, installed Coretemp and the cores apprear to both be at 35C, as opposed to the 28 C that they read in Easytune 6, a difference of 7 degrees C. That means that, assuming Coretemp  is correct, Easytune is off by 25%, quite a large number IMO.

I only put them in Fahrenheit for myself, so I could get a reasonable idea on the temps as compared to the ambient temps.

Is 35 still a good temp using my Rosewill cooler with AS5?

Why does everyone use Celsius anyways? For international compatibility?

Yeah my E8400 idles at 35C with almost a 30% overclock. With core temps did you adjust the TJmax at all?

Re: Are these CPU temps normal?

ET6 well i don't really use that for monitoring temps you can if you want to but i don't   i have a gigabyte G45 -UD3P same board you have listed in your specs and looking at easy tune there pretty much right on according to a couple of other programs i use to monitor temps  i have a E8400 @ 4.2gig  btw this mobo rocks at overclocking these 45nm   core temp is a fairly accurate program  but i would update the ET6  i believe there a updated one if your temps are off by that much update it see if that fixes the variations that your seeing  - i don't use realtemp though that seems to be off more then its right on these 45nm   ill add some pics to show my idle and load temps for you

also take a wise consideration when overclocking always get a gd aftermarket HSF   i would say the rosewell ones are soso in comparision to some of the others ones  like the Xigmatek 1283 /sunbeam   good airflow is important check the CFM of your fans  even the case fans  keep your vitial components cool  get a case that has plenty of fans.   ex antec 900  CM RC-690 for starters.   i always remove the stock fans from cases becuase they lack the airflow i want i replace them with high CFM ones.  i choose to put 6  120mm 110cfm  scythe fans in there. Not everyone on likes scythe but just get some gd high CFM ones  you can also replace the fan on your HSF if it will let you adopt a normal 120mm to it alot of them do , but not all.    Also on these motherboards  the CPU fans are usually PWM  which means the motherboard can control the speed at which the fan runs so check your bios and change it to 100% if you don't want the motherboard to do that.
