    seasonic s12 550w won't power molex adapter

    the molex connectors won't power the 2molex 1 6pin pci e adapter and im wondering what the problem is because in the future i might wnna upgrade to the gtx 280 and that needs a 8pin but comes with the molex adapter. don't know if i should guy another psu that supports native 8pin pcie. current setup is find becuase i have 2 6pin pci e

    Sure your molex adapter isnt faulty. If the molexs work themselves, stands to reason, they should run through an adapter. Try diff molexs?

    In anycase, realize the GT 280 calls for minimum 550W, personally I'd want straight draw, and would get one with a 8-pin, but thats me.

    If you aren't already plug two separate molex cables into the adapter(two different molex cables). I would consider investing in a new PSU anyways if it lacks the PCI-e connectors.

    ok never mind the one i got with my new gpu works fine. the adapter i got was from a "professional" shop : performance-pc.com. can't believe i wasted 20 on that becuase i tohugh they would make top quailty stuff. thats y i even paid a premium
