T240HD has digital tuner, but can't get any HD

I just got a Samsung T240HD which comes with a digital tv tuner (QAM tuner).  However, I have not been able to get any HD channels (not even local OTA HD which I'm sure they have where I am).  In the settings there are three signal types (STD, HRC, and IRC).  I've tried all three to no avail.  Is there any trick that you have to do with the monitor to get it to recognize HD channels?  Thanks for the help.

You need an outside source, either an antenna or cable.  If you have basic cable, depending on where you are you will still get some HD on Network channels only (for example if channel 5 was ABC you would get ABC's HD on 5.1 or something similar.
