Any normal looking cases out there?

This might be a bit tough, but here goes:

I'm looking for a case that can conform to the general specs below. However, I'm trying to fit these requirements:

    1. Somewhat roomy, so nothing is an incredibly tight fit.
    2. Enough fans to keep the system reasonably cool.
    3. Doesn't look like it came from p**p My Case, or the the planet Jupiter (in other words, plain).
    4. As few LEDs as possible. I like to sleep without a nightlight.

Now would also be a good time to ask this. Do you really need a full tower ATX for gaming, or are there really good mid towers out there as well?

Re: Any normal looking cases out there?

I have to admit first that I'm no expert.  I have, however, been researching cases pretty steadily for over a month.  I've read hundreds of reviews for dozens of cases.  The second thing to admit is I've been looking  at "cheap."  I started out very cheap and have worked my way up to still fairly cheap, but will do a really good job without bells and whistles.

I am about 99% certain this is the case I will be buying.  I don't know how to make the link "nice", so here it is:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119152&Tpk=centurion%2b590

It's not the newest style, but it appears to have none of those extra lights, there's no window, and it's fairly plain without looking simply utilitarian.  It's roomy, supposedly big enough for the 8800 gtx and 9600 gt cards, and has lots of drive bays.  I do NOT have one yet, so I cannot speak from personal experience, but most of the reviews for this all around the net are very good.

There's bigger cases, and probably simpler cases, but this one's a pretty good price for what you get.

     Hope I helped.

edit:  There's also the Cooler Master 690 - it's slightly bigger than the 590, but comes with one blue LED fan (the other fan is not LED, nor are there any other lights that come with it).  The biggest real, practical, difference between the 590 & 690 is the 690 is "SLI certified" whereas the 590 is not.  I don't know why, they are so very similar.

Mid towers are fine for most cases.  You can even SLI or Crossfire in some of the roomier ones if your airflow is good.  Anyway, here's a search of all Mid-Towers without windows or included power supplies (you really want to pick one out yourself, always).

I would recommend the P182. The case is quite roomy, no LEDs lights, it doesn't look pimped out and I personally think this case looks quite professional. If the P182 is a bit out of your budget you might want to take a look at the P180. It is a bit cheaper than the P182.

Have you seen the new cases by Hiper? Very nice looking and highly rated. Welded alloy so very strong but light. They have a side window, but not the lights. Newegg.com - HIPER, Computer Cases, Computer Cases, Computer Hardware

I don't use this one but I think the Antec Three Hundred fits your criteria - it's currently only $55 at that buy site.

I got the Lian Li PC-61 for $79 and use it for one of my pc's that doesn't require super air flow....I'd buy it again.

Look at the cases by Lian Li; I have a few of them and I agree you don't want a case that looks like it just came from p**p my ride, LOL.

Personallly I have used the Antec Sonata a few times as I don't go for the windows & LEDs either.  This one has a 500watt PS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129024 and is under $100.  Sonata's were said to be the quietest case available at one time.  (Haven't built anything for over a year.)  I also liked the feature of the hard drives facing out when you open the side.  They also make fancier models for of course more money.

If you want a case that looks more sleek and normal than most other cases, I'd also suggest a Lian Li. I currently use the Lian Li PC-7B and I love it. I've built 4 computers with this case and each person I built them for was very pleased with the build quality and appearance. That, and this particular model doesn't carry the typically high Lian Li price tag.
