    P5Q-E or P5Q Deluxe?

Trying to decide between these two P45 boards. Main thing I see is 16-phase vs. 8-phase power for a $50 price difference. I'll be putting in an e8400, 4gb 1066 ram, and starting off with a single hd4850 (may add another in the future). Also which cpu cooler will fit this board?

The deluxe has a 16 phase power, so if you do a lot of overclocking the deluxe will be stable. but if you don't want to break the record, i think the p5e is good enough for you. moreover,P5E would be my pick for a Crossfire system.

I would have to agree with intelguy, the P5Q-E would do fine unless budget is no problem and you like the extras at the increased price. As for the htsk&fan have a look at these.

Great! I was leaning towards the P5Q-E since I won't be OC'ing too much. Thanks for the cpu cooler recommendations too.

    Re: P5Q-E or P5Q Deluxe?

Their detailed difference is here. http://www.asus.com/products_compare_show.aspx?array_model=2257,2267&l1=3

Obviously, P5Q-E is oriented for mass market, and the latter one is the deluxe version. lol

The deluxe has better overclocking performance with 16 phase PVM than the 'E' wth 8.

Ans they also differ by cooling system, P5Q- E has inexpensive radiators, while Deluxe is coupled with more effective heat transfer system with thermal tubes.

    Yep, nice coolers hoghaulerYes
