New System. Everything turns on but nothing work

Here's the system I just bought from NewEgg:

    • GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
    • RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V Modular LED Power Supply
    • AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Windsor 3.2GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 125W Dual-Core Processor
    • Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250410AS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
    • G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK
    • SAMSUNG 20X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model SH-S203N
Just put it together, but when I turn the power on, all the fans and everything start up. Hard drive sounds like its spinning. But nothing on the screen. I've tried plugging it via HDMI to my LCD TV as well as to a regular Dell LCD monitor via D-SUB. I've tried disconnecting the hard drive and the dvd drive. I've tried moving the RAM from 1/2 to 3/4 and also to 1/3 and 2/4 slots. Still same thing. Any suggestions?

Re: New System. Everything turns on but nothing work

Are there any LED's on your motherboard. These light up differently depending on the "state" of the system. If you have them and there is a problem they should flash an error code. You can look this code up in the book that came with it.

That being said, without knowing if there is an error code or not it sounds like the onboard video might just be bad, it happens from time to time and I'm sure you'll have no trouble with an RMA. If you have a PCI or a PCI-E video card around (or one you can pull from another system) I would try to use that, if it works then your onboard is most likely dead.

I was looking at the reviews for your motherboard and it seems some other users have also has a bit of trouble with the onboard video.

Hope this helps and keep us updated.

any beep codes? check those if so. try just one stick of memory. when you turn on the monitor does it go into standby or does it say on? if it goes into standby theres either a connection probolem or the onboard is gone.  Like ewa said, the onboard could be DOA so RMA the board if needed. best of luck :)
