    New mobo comparison and question

I am in the process of building a new desktop for myself. The two motherboards that have caught my eye are the two I link below. My first question is: for someone who is fairly knowledgeable of computer hardware, and moderately interested in over clocking (ei i'll do it, but i'm not trying to do something crazy) which board is a better fit?

2nd question is that the Asus board is designed for ATI video cards. I am not going to run SLI/crossfire, and i see some reviewers are running nvidia cards in this board. are there compatibility issues related to using Rampage board w/ a geforce 280? thanks for the help, any other advice is also appriciated.

I have always been a fan of asus but lots of people have issues with their boards. THe evga mobo is really nice, its made quite well. I OC with asus boards all the time and have no complaintes my Q6600 is 3.2ghz right now so i can say it OCs good.

$289.99 for a p45 mobo? not a good choice IMO.

If you want to overclcok, this Biostar  is a good idea. it is only $169.99.

but the evga is the best choice cos it support sli whether you are going to or not. the bad thing is that it only has PCI Express x16 x2. even the BIOSTAR has PCI Express 2.0 x16.

i think the 280gtx will run well on all the three mobos.

my best choice: biostar, evga, asus.

Re: New mobo comparison and question

The Evga motherboard is a well built motherboard, the 750i is basically a 780 with less PCI-e slots as I've been told before. I have my Q6600 on my 780 running at 3.2GHz with good temps. Excellent board for overclocking.
