    PANIC! Asus MoBo question!

I just ordered an Asus M2N32 Wireless Edition from Newegg (you can find it here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131011). While reading the reviews AFTER I purchased it I found that one of the people who had purchased the board had to get a BIOS update in order to get there processor to work. After reading this I realized that it is the same processor that I had purchased, an AMD Athlon X2 6400+! I am in total panic mode because I don't own a processor that uses the AM2 socket! I don't know what to do this is my first build AND I NEED HELP PLEASE!!

I dont think you will have a problem it seems the older firmware diidnt support this chip but i only found one account of that. Most of the reviews using the 6400 are fine.

Worst case situation, you flash the bios to a more recent version and it works.  By now the boards are likely shipping with compatible bios though.

No...worst case scenario would be buying a really cheap AM2 CPU and flashing the BIOS.

Just hope the motherboard is not DOA

I found the problem, I forgot the CPU power. Whoops, any way it works now, I just wish I could get the X-ficard to work.
