Thinking of Adding More Memory? Read Here First!

We have published a new application note that covers a few of the basic memory upgrade questions that are asked daily.

     AN806: Memory Upgrade Resource Guide.

Nice read. The part that showed the difference in gaming between 2GB and 4GB was intriguing.

AN804 is also a good read as it is specifically for gaming. And, the playability aspect of minimum and average frame rates is much more important than max frame rate.

The fact that it's DDR2 is the determining factor mostly. If you have a laptop, go look for laptop memory, if you have a desktop, look for desktop memoy......that is DDR2 667

Make sure it has the same voltage and latencies as your so you won't run into any problems.

I bought 2gb of WinTec AmpX DDR2 800 ram to make 4gb total, and both new sticks were DOA. :(
