A far as I know there are no benchmarks for network drives. All you are doing is accessing files from across the network to a shared location. I recommend using that program on the PC that you are accessing files from. There are also utlities around to test network performance.

For Linux SAMBA setup, I use iostat command. Specifically:
iostat -m 10 5
Which you can find under the sysstat package.

I guess I can just start a transfer of a 500MB+ file and see what network usage goes up to in the task manager.
