    Re: leopard vs. vista

not know much about leopard but i do like vista, i know leopard is beautiful. but i think vista is okay.

vista eats much memory. idk if the leopard eats less. if so, maybe it is not a bad choice  to give it shot.

ill try each of the OS if i can, it is really a good experience to explore a new OS with the new features and unknown surprise.

     maybe i try Leopard later.

    Re: leopard vs. vista

Well, it would depends on what OS u prefer. Mac or PC? Leopard or Vista?

Hah...sound to me like it's a good question for I'd also like to know more about Leopard. and wonder whether Apple's new Mac OS X Leopard will eclipse Vista or not. lol

wow, pretty cool. this link really gave a pretty nice comparison between 'em. XD

    Re: leopard vs. vista

not know much about leopard either but i donot find a need to upgrade XP to Vista until I buy a new computer.

and there is one major flaw with vista at the moment. One minute software runs on it next it doesn't.

untill they actually come out with a standard vista that can run software all the time not just when microsoft wants it then i'm not buying it.

no sure whether leopard has such a prob?

    Re: leopard vs. vista

I've used both and I have to say I actually do prefer Vista.  Leopard being a MacOS is somewhat limited in the programs it runs (then again you could say that about vista's stability).  Its an ok general appearance but I dislike the feel of it and it feels like it tries to hard.  I never was a fan of Apple's approach to visual styling.

As for people who go on and on about vista stability.  I have had a lot of problems with that pre SP1, but on every computer with SP1 installed I have yet to have any problems at all.

    Re: leopard vs. vista

Well that would depend on what you want to do as well. Do you want to video and audio edit at a professional level? Or do you want compatibility and room to be able to get software as well as hardware upgrades?

    Re: leopard vs. vista

Both of those sound nice, but if I had to choose, it would be the second option.

Ok if you want that then it would be Windows based PC.

First, Mac's are no longer "the best" when it comes to video and audio editing. A Windows PC can be just as good as the Mac in that department. It is no longer an issue. Second, since Apple moved to Intel chips, the "mac's can't be upgraded" comments are no longer valid either. There's no more difference in the hardware between Apple and Windows, so it's only up to the manufacture to produce drivers for the equipment. This is the reason why "Hackintoshes" are so easy to create. You can run OS X on a lot of regular PC hardware. OS X wins in my book.

The only reason why Apple moved to Intel processors is they wanted multi core. There is very little hardware still that can run on the MAC for instance the 8800Gt was cleared about 2months ago. And the AIT 3870 being the best cards you can get that is compatible with OSX.  Where as the PC had it for how long. As for running OSX.5 on a PC yes that can happened for only one reason its Unix based. Where as OS9 was not Unix based. With 10.5 and 10.6 you can run it on a PC however the older versions 10.0 - 10.4 can not run on a PC.

There still is a difference in hardware. Try and find several Video cards, motherboards, Sound cards ect that will work with OSX.

MAC is still used today for Hollywood films

    Re: leopard vs. vista

From my personal experience windows is much easier to use than mac, though macs are known for their artistic stuff the two operating systems are becoming   and you can do pretty much everything on a windows.  Windows has the advantage with games though some games are on mac like ten i think and about half are good.  Also with pc you are able to customize your computer, put in any graphics card proccesor motherboard etc. So i am for pc but it depends what you want.

if you do decide on mac dont forget hackintosh
