    nforce drivers

i noticed nvidia had some new software out for nforce motherboards, including nForce Driver v15.17, and nvidia system tools program.

i have a nforce 4 relic that i tried to download and instal the new nforce drivers for. once installed i would get blue screen of death, limited to no connectivity and many other issues, took me a while to figure out what was causing this a couple of formats later i thought the motherboard was going out, then i noticed that once i installed the new nforce drivers i would get this problem.

any way i went back to the previous version of the nforce drivers and have had no problems,

should i even try to get the updated drivers? would it be beneficial?

    Re: nforce drivers

Did you uninstall the previous drivers before installing 15.17? If not there have been known issues that if you do not uninstall, reboot and install the new drivers it can play havoc with your system. And there are times that you can install over the top. If you want to try it then uninstall, reboot to clear, and then install the new drivers and see if that will work.

    Re: nforce drivers

Well after a format the drivers should not have a issue with a install. Try and look thru the NVIDIA Archives for a older driver and see if it works verses the new ones.

    Re: nforce drivers

I do not think the new drivers for Nforce boards really add anything new. The Nforce 4 is already a mature product. Usually they just add new support for their newer boards.

    Re: nforce drivers

The do take these as a example. If there was a problem with the old ver of a WHQL the new driver can add that fix and stability.
