    benchmark contest

we should have a contest, see who has the best computer.  and have like a newegg certificate for the best, rules would be like has to be custom built and purchased through newegg.com.  give a little business and have a good prize for that person.  whatcha think?

Wow~ That is just so true, it's amazing Yes

In fact, it's kinda depressing when you think about it for a while..

AH! But what happens when two people with infinite funds compete against each other? Only then do things get interesting!

    Re: benchmark contest

I think I like this idea!

But the first step is to compile a list of what Benchmarks to include. Benchmarks like SuperPi would be good because you don't have to be super rich to get a good score at it. All you need is a Mobo, CPU and RAM that work well together.

    A few suggestions:

    3DMark Vantage

    3DMark 2006

    SuperPi

    3DMark 2001

    wPrime

    E8500 (work in progress)
    4GB G-Skill D9GMH DDR2
    150GB WD Raptor-X, 2x Samsung 500GB
    Asus Rampage Formula (x38)
2x Powercolor Radeon HD 4870 512 MB (work in progress flashed to Asus TOP 4870 BIOS)
Mountain Mods U2-UFO Duality Powdercoat Black
    Corsair 1000HX

    Custom W/Cing: EK Supreme, EK NB-5, 2x D-Tek GFX 2 , PA120.2 + PA120.3, D5 (EK X-Top) + DDC 3.2 (PTS Top) w/ Bitspower Fatboy fittings.

    Re: benchmark contest

Seems like a wonderful idea to me.  But I think there should be atleast two classes. Those who have Over Clocked there computer and those who haven't.  Because I have no desire to OC my computer.  I hope this will happen because I would love to compete, doubt I will win (not rich at all)!
    Thanks!
