Can't find a Geforce 9800 GTX VGA cooler anywhere.

I found the Accelero XTREME 9800 that came out last month but no US website has it and its the only one that i have seen to work just for the 9800 GTX card I own. New egg has the 8800 version but can't tell me if or when they are getting the 9800 cooler in. If anyone knows a cooler that will work for the 9800 for sure please let me know. The 9800 card runs so hot and causes the computer to restart so i am forced to go back to the 8600 i own till i can find a good cooler.

well that sounds like its your case cooling that needs some help rather than the vga, maybe some high cfm case fans would do the trick.

what is your current cooling setup and
do you plan to overclock your computer at all?

I am using a Cool master 690 with 7 silver stone 120mm fans that each push 120 CFM and my case temp is a cool 34C prior to the 9800 card installed. With it jumps to a  78C case temp.

Re: Can't find a Geforce 9800 GTX VGA cooler anywh

that looks like a good setup, but im just saying that a new vga cooler will only effect the gpu temps, unless the fans are powerful enough to force air out of the case.

They are great fans just the stock cooler on the 9800 sucks at getting rid of all the heat from the card.

i read somewhere that cooler is compatible with the  9series,
maybe because the card is so new they havent updated compatibility yet? i dont know.

Re: Can't find a Geforce 9800 GTX VGA cooler anywh

    Check it out.

Add a couple 92mm fans or one 120mm and you got your self a good cooler.

I'm using the HR-03 Plus on my 8800GTS and it works wonders, so I'm assuming this would do the same for the 9800GTX.

thats a great one to, you prolly wouldn't even need a fan on it. but the dual 92mm sound great.

Re: Can't find a Geforce 9800 GTX VGA cooler anywh

all Coolers rated for 8800 GTX will work for 9800 GTX, the 8 screw mount holes and memory chip placement are EXACTLY THE SAME.

For example, Zalman VF-1000 will work, but only if U add RHS-88 memory heat sink as well.

Re: Can't find a Geforce 9800 GTX VGA cooler anywh

but the thread was about lowering case temps i dont understand how a gpu cooler will help.

but are the temps even that bad? what are your temps running at for cpu, case, gpu?

    cagg you are banned.

Re: Can't find a Geforce 9800 GTX VGA cooler anywh

since the GTX is dual slot, it should hardly be adding any heat to your case, if the airflow is directed properly it should be going out the back of the case

which of your 7 fans blow air in and which pull air out? (also, use like RivaTuner or something to turn up the fan speed on the GTX, it might only be running at like 20%, where boosting it above 50 might solve all your problems, for free)

Re: Can't find a Geforce 9800 GTX VGA cooler anywh

If you are looking to increase airflow, pick up a few of these 250CFM fans! Lol

Seriously, though, just boosting the fan speed, like smartalco said would work unless you're concerned about noise, because GPU fans are LOUD.
