    Really Anoying Issues

Have any of you gotten this?

    Access Denied: Post Flood Prevention

The required time between posts has not been met. Please wait a few seconds and try to post again.

I have it happen often when I have written a long post to try and help someone or when I am answering a question. I sometimes read it over and want to add more then this happens. Quite often I just do not bother to type it all over again. Unfortunatly it usually happens with my better posts where I can actually contribute something. When are we going top getpast some of these issues and get past the Beta.

Unusual. And this is happening after it's been quite a while after your last post?

Also, if something like that happens to me, I just hit the back button to go back to the reply page and what I typed is still there (I'm using FF 3).

    Re: Really Anoying Issues

It has hapened with both ie and ff and it happens when I try to go back in and edit or change before posting. For the quickposts in the fun threads there is no issue because they are kind of meaningless drive by posts but when there is a tek question where I want to provide a lot of information and make it as accurate as I can, it seems like I can timed out. Overall, there are times when these forums are very slow anyway. I am thinking that this is still beta and will be fixed but it has been beta for over a year now.

As for ff3, the site was overloaded when I tried to get it a little while ago. I will try again tomorrow after things settle down.

I get it most of the time but I just wait 30 seconds and then I can post. But I do agree it can be annoying especially when you have 10PPL that you are assisting and well you get that nice error every time I try to edit a post or PM I get the Opps error.

Still overloaded. It's so bad that Mozilla has now made it so that the firefox site redirects to the european site. http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/#feature-vsie

If I wait 30 seconds with no cheating it usually goes OK; but 30 Seconds??? Come on, that is the slowest thing I do on my computer. Having to wait that long really reduces the amount of posts I do, especially the ones that may be more valuable to others. Besides, at my age, 30 seconds times a bunch of posts??? Too much valuable time Big Smile

    Re: Really Anoying Issue

Whenever I get that sign, my post goes in, but its like I had double clicked it or something.

There's been some on going issues with the Beta, and a few of us have mentioned it, but I guess it wasnt replicable, so understandably, hard to monitor. One of the biggest glitches with me, is the cursor, no matter what, I can start the cursor in the reply box, but it will like go away, and I'll be typing a bit before looking up, only to notice the last numebr of words are nada.

I've just made a habit of looking up and making sure now, and if it isnt I'll just have to click the cursor back into the reply box. This has been happening with me, and on numerous machines, since day one. All browsers too, BUT some more so than others. FF does real well. IE so-so. My favorite browser though Ace Explorer is a real pitter.

I mean we all know there's still bugs, but hey, its still worked well, so kudos to the guys hosting and maintenencing it.

    Penewah!

    Re: Really Anoying Issue

Glad to see I am not the only one. I also get the droped cursor issue, just have to wait for the reply to fuly load I guess.

Hey, nothing taken away from the team, this is a good forum, a good mix of tek and fun. Thanks. It is just that I am a perfectionist when it comes to things Tek. I guess it is my background. That is also why I am always buying upgrade stuff from the eggBig Smile

    Re: Really Anoying Issue

I don't know if this is worth considering, but could that filter be disabled for a while, to see how things go?  Doesn't seem like "flooding" is an issue on this forum?

Or, and it's not like I follow this advice, you could just type more...  Stick out tongue

    Re: Really Anoying Issue

I had that problem in the past when I would visit not using FireFox.  I have not had a problem with it since I got FF2 and now 3.  The problem seemed to the worst for mei when I visited with Opera.

And the reply content i typed is still there, just the title missing. wow...Mei seems luckier coz when i use FF2, such issue would also ghost sometimes. Anyway i can stand such an unexpected annoying coz it's a nice community after all. Buddies
