Have noticed this issue for a long time and made sure that image can't be uploaded directly from my disc drive/computer. Just thought whether there would be a promotion of the image inserting, i mean, like the avi, the image can also be uploaded directly from the disc drive.

Coz sometimes it's really not so convenient and comfortable to send it to photobucket for an URL, especially when the internet is too slow. Well, of course, u may not agree with me but i still think it's much more easier and convenient if such a promotion is put into use!

yes that is kind of what he's saying.

While this feature sounds like a good idea, I used to want it myself, it is more trouble then it is worth.  photobucket is not that hard to use and there are many other sites that host content for free as well.

Unicorn is correct in the fact that storing them will be the major issue. It is a good idea but at this point in time I do not think it can be accomplished.

Yup, just think of the perhaps thousands of pictures that this site would have to provide storage for.

I use Photobucket and it works well. One other solution some can use is, if you have your own web site use a silent page. I just set up a page with no links to the homer page and put pictures on it. If I want anyone to see them I can give them the url and I can also link to it like I have for my avatar.

The method that maple29 suggests is the way that most forum sites handle avatars, as well as a list of pre-provided ones and web linking like is done here.  Even for forum sites much bigger than Eggxpert.

Though I just use my own webhost, for many people it would be easier to do.
