    This ISN'T what I ordered

I wanted to add 2 more gbs of ram to my system. I ordered the same ram that I had ordered before. It was the same new egg item # and the same OCZ item #. I just put the ram into my system and it doesn't boot. I reinstalled the old ram and ran PC Wizard. It showed me that the new ram(part #) was not the same thing as the old. It was from the value series of their ram. It came in the same packaging as the original ram. The sticker on the side of the ram looked the same. The physical appearance of the ram was different though. How can this happen. The timings listed on the ram was 2-3-2-5. This ram runs at 3-4-4-8. Tried to manually reset the timings and would not boot. Did Newegg make a mistake with this ram. Did the manufacturer package it incorrectly. All I know is ,if I wanted the value ram, I would have bought it and saved a lot of money

Have u gone to the site of that manufacture to see whether the ram is updated or not?! Looks a quite weird issue! Don't hesitate to contact NE CS and they would help u figure out what's it! Good luck! Smile

Re: This ISN'T what I ordered

I checked the ocz site and the ram as I originally ordered it is online with the timings of the original ram. The second set of ram (when I ordered it) looked exactly like the website with the same timings 2-3-2-5. The case of the second set of ram looked differnt than the first. It was enclosed in the silver case with heat spreaders What was inside the case, the ram itself, was value ram with timings of 3-4-4-8. This is what I don't understand. I emailed newegg last night. We will see what happens. I also emailed one of ocz's techs that is on their forum. This all started when I got a error message about one of the original 1gb sticks of ram I had installed. I ran memtest v1.20 and it showed an error. I emailed the ocz tech and told him. It has to be RMA'd. So, I figured I would just plug in the new ram I had and that would be that. Not so. This has turned into a headache. I also dowloaded ocz's SPD-z to see if there was an update for the second set of ram. There was not. What I have is two 1gb sticks of ram with looser timings than what they should be.
