First is posting a chat log in the forums really the best idea?

Second I have doubts about the reality of the story.  For someone that maybe killed a $1000 part they don't really seem to care.  Also I am not sure how they would get a cpu fan/heatsink off with a pc running.  If it was a tower pc of any sort it is not exactly easy to work on taking off the fan if it the case is not set on it's side.  I am going to think one would likely get a shock of some sort while working on running electrical parts.  Plus for someone that does not know anything about pc's I would have a lot of doubts they would know the qx6850 naming.  

To me it sounds like the chatties that went for the story are the noobs that got pwnd.

The posting of the second "chat" is exactly why many people do not use it.  It sounds/comes off as a bunch of high school kids rudely talking.  Even though "Laura" is more than likely not real and the situation is even less likely real there is no need to continue to verbally attack them.

Obviously this person wants some attention, which they ended up getting but I doubt they were looking to be insulted/attacked.  My guess is they get this type of behavior on a daily basis as it is.  

I am saying they should be called out but leave it at that, there is no reason to go nasty and personal attacks at them.   

Ok, here's the break down.  Eggxperts were getting troll'd.  CAGG did some counter-trolling. 

"An eye for an eye," as they say.  "Laura" was trying to be a d*** and piss people off, so he, (yes, it was probably a he) got what he deserved.  Lay off CAGG for doing YOU, the chat users, a favor, and getting some laughs while doing it.  

(Seriously, if you didn't laugh at " I'd beat U like Shaft beats his hoes.", then you are dead inside.)

LOL that was one funny read.

I did not make sense. She had to have some teeny tiny bit of knowledge being in the chat room she was in. Even complete dumb asses assimilate some tiny spark of information even when trying hard not to.

If it was real I would love to be the fly on the wall to watch the action...my lawn chaise, popcorn and diet Pepsi are ready, willing and able to watch the show immediately.

That wasn't 'counter-trolling'. That was feeding the trolls. The whole idea behind trolling is to get a reaction out of people. The troll succeeded in doing that, if it really was a troll.

I didn't see anything original in that log to find amusing. What I see are people cracking on someone that is trying to be stupid.  Let me give you an example. If somebody was walking with a piece of ketchup on their face on purpose, and you know they have it on their face on purpose, it isn't very funny is it?   On the flip side, if that person had no idea it was on their face, then it would be much funnier. Humor depends alot on the situation.

I don't find mere swear words, or pimps n hoes to be funny either, since I've heard it about a million times. Maybe when I was 12 year old I'd laugh when somebody said those things, but not anymore.   I'm sorry, I don't say LOL that was funny he said the F word! LOL!

Keep in mind too that if there were any newbies to Eggxpert in that room, they would've thought very lowly of the Eggxpert community in general.  Like sjr said, it sounds more like a group of highschool kids talking junk to eachother.

Trolling, while an unproductive activity, is almost always funny.  And CAGG wasnt just swearing at the person. There was more to it than that.  But if he wants to defend himself from accusations of childishness, he should do that himself.  I hope he does. It would probably be funny.
