    How Does the Price Look?

    Dear EggXperts,

We'd like to begin by thanking you as customers for being so loyal and passionate. Here at Newegg.com, we truly value all of your opinions and feedback. We fully understand that without you, there would be no us. In keeping with that mindset, we'd like to hear what you have to say about our pricing format. We recently began considering some changes to our pricing format. Please use the links below to view the proposed changes:

Once you have viewed both formats, please tell us which price format you prefer. We would love to hear your voice! If you have other ideas, let us know as well. Thank you.

Personally, I would go with the current format but switch the background color of the promo code and the "your price."

Re: How Does the Price Look?

I am not seeing much difference between the two.  I like the shop now button which makes it easier to have a spot to visibly click to go to the item, though I did like the promo code listing on the old way as it was easier to see, with the new one it is not so much hidden but not as obvious.

Re: How Does the Price Look?

I can not see any significant difference out there. Personally, i woudl prefer current once, since, as being said, it is easier to draw customer's attention.

Uhm... yeah, I don't see any big differences. I guess they could both work.

Re: How Does the Price Look?

The addition of the SHOP NOW button is nice, the "newer" version does have a slightly cleaner look to it; Don't know about the name "SHOP NOW" though.. maybe "MORE INFO", or some other derivative? I was wondering before I clicked on it of it was going to take me to the item, or some general page with more of the same type of items.   meh.. maybe I'm just slow.  Knockout

Re: How Does the Price Look?

Current look a little better, it's easier to catch the savings code.

The GOAL: more performance, less heat, less noise, less size, less weight.

Re: How Does the Price Look?

Current price format is the perfect.

It shows the product and price, what more is needed?

Re: How Does the Price Look?

I'd say stick to the current format. Easier to spot promo code, and looks better in my opinion.

I prefer the "current price format"......as other have mentioned, it's easier to see the promo code.

Re: How Does the Price Look?

Im liking them both, but i have to say the first one because you can see the promo code easier and it just seems easier to navigate.

Re: How Does the Price Look?

I'm liking the current format as well. Seems the Promo and FS is better incorporated into the "eye catch." For me anyways.

I think what would help the format though would be much much larger promo prices off. You know, if one is $20 off, make it $60, that'll catch peoples eye. Big Smile

Re: How Does the Price Look?

I'm actually going to have to go against the grain and say that the updated price format looks better. The main reason is that in the current price format, the outline/box around the promo code kind of annoys me. I know it alerts the reader to the code, but I feel that without this box, the updated price format has an overall cleaner look, and I think the promo code is still noticeable enough.

However, Penewab2007 might be onto something with this "if one is $20 off, make it $60." Applause

Re: How Does the Price Look?

They're pretty much the same, however, I like how in the bottom section, it outlines the promo codes. All in all, I don't think anyone will notice a difference.

Re: How Does the Price Look?

I actually like the newer format, except for the promo code visibility.  There isn't a big difference really, though.

Re: How Does the Price Look?

Since it is kind of a split decision I would say make a 3rd one that addresses the issues.

For me I like the 1st one due to having the promo code by itself. Since the code has to be entered during checkout it makes it easier to copy/paste and to read.

I do not like the 1st one when it has this kind of format: After $85.00 Instant Savings and $5.00 Promo Code Discount. I would rather have a clearer view of the promo code discount amount.

I like the 2nd one since it has the promo code discount amount right next to the promo code.

I also noticed you guys removed the $X Instant Savings text and the word Discount from the 2nd format. I do not know if it is a good or bad idea, but that is up to Newegg's marketing team to decide. It does save space, but I think some people do like to see instant discount. Maybe it makes them "feel" like they are saving more money.

To me the Shop Now button is useless since I would never click shop through an email unless it was absolutely neccessary.

As for the placement of the * Price after rebates and promotional discounts. I would use the 1st format by placing that text above the "Stay tuned for a special 24-hour..." banner.

Perhaps you guys can retain the promo code box with the promo code inside as seen in the 1st format, but instead of just saying promo code say $X promo code (then inside the box) XXXXXXXX.

I've always liked newegg's prices. They are very reasonable.
