Looking for music, no Portable MP3 player current

Hey all, looking for some thoughts. I just built a new comp, and was thinking of purchasing MP3's online, the whole $1 / track thing. Anyway, should I go with iTunes? Napster? Any thoughts here? Currently just looking for songs to dl.

if your looking for legal you should look into ruckus.  you need a compliant university screen name (i'm sure you can find out), but you can download lots of free music.  They have millions of songs, lightning fast downloads and free. They have drm and delete themselves after 30 days, and you can't put them on your portable mp3 player because of the drm.  Now if you remove the drm (google), then they last forever, you can put them on your portable device, and they still download fast and are legal.  If your using vista its 1 extra step to remove the drm, either google or PM me.

Well, I would like to go more legal, I just didn't really know if there were options outside of iTunes or Napster (for big names).

Unfortunately I just graduated college for almost a year now, so I'm in the real world (stay as far away as you can!!!) But back to topic, I wouldn't mind any suggestions for some good programs out there to get some music off of.

Ruckus is completly legal.  Maybe removing the drm isn't but if you wanted to keep your drm you can redownload your songs every 30 days (yea it is stupid).

As for music that you pay for... i just googled this site but it seems nice.

a lot of the music there is only like 9 cents a song, entire albums for just over a buck.  I don't know how extensive their library is, but i guess you can get most of your stuff there, and what they don't have buy at a different place such as itunes or whatever.
