    Censorship -- nice.

I wrote a detailed report on the tests, problems, and design limitations of the two Rosewill UPSs I bought recently from Newegg.  There were a couple of replies to it.  I was curious whether there had been any additional comments or questions.  Imagine my surprise to find that Newegg deleted the entire thread.

Newegg -- this is no way to run a forum.  If you're going to censor negative ACCURATE posts, your forums are worthless.  You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Of course, I expect that you'll censor this one too.

    Re: Censorship -- nice.

The Eggxpert team has yet, in my experience, to delete any post that was not an advertisement, trolling or against one of the rules of posting. You will find many examples of posts which detail bad experiences people have had with NewEgg and they have not been deleted. Why would NewEgg protect Rosewill? When the CA team gets into the office this morning I'm sure we'll see a detailed explanation.

    Re: Censorship -- nice.

I know sometimes posts get moved but in this case the posts may have been deleted.  I say this since your profile shows 4 for your post count yet only 2 posts are able to be viewed, meaning 2 are in the netherworld of the forums so I cannot see what the posts were.

    Re: Censorship -- nice.

That post fell into none of the prohibited categories.  It was dispassionate, factual and documented with my test results.  There was no flaming, no foul language, or anything else that was non-compliant with the forum rules.  Grammar and spelling were also perfect.  I didn't even slam the product.  Actually it's okay, it's just not a "500Watt" capable UPS as Rosewill claims.  It's a perfectly adequate low-end 300W UPS, and that's what I said.

And there's no doubt about it, the thread is gone.

You know the old expression: There's a first time for everything.

I can't wait to see the excu....  explanation.

    Re: Censorship -- nice.

Interestingly, the mixed review I gave to the UPS on its product page (I'm srr2 there) here:  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842164002 which said essentially the same things only with much less detail, is still there.  My comments here were similar, only with more detail about what I found, how I tested it, and some information on battery choice. That degree of detail wasn't possible there because product reviews are limited to 1000 characters in each of the three categories.

BTW, I'm a degreed EE with quite a bit of experience in this area, having designed power handling circuitry for airborne and military applications for several years.  I sort of know what I'm talking about which makes it all that more disappointing that they've chosen to remove my discussion of this product.

    Hello GeneralEclectic,

Please accept our apologies for any confusion. However, your topic was never deleted. Our forum goal is to be as transparent as possible; we do not remove negative feedback - we take it and do whatever we can to improve so that such feedback becomes a thing of the past. Your post is exactly where you left it:

    http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/219115.aspx

It was never deleted. You cannot find it via Search because the Shopping EggXperience forum is one of several message boards on EggXpert where posts are not indexed, as any discussion is relatively limited. Please note, however, that any and all topics you post in are always kept under the "My Discussions" box on the right of your screen.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know. Thank you,

    - auden

You are right, that is not the way to run a forum, and thats not  that way we do things here at all. So what is there for us to be ashamed about? Feel free to read around the forum and discuss it with some other members and you will see that we have not run things as the way you have stated and will not EVER!

    Happy Hollidays!

    Re: Censorship -- nice.

Why did I expect to see a sheepish apology from the OP at the end of this thread?
