Most people are afraid that it is spyware or a security risk. The truth is I have had 8-14 computer running 24/7 for 1.5 years and not once has any of my dedicated rigs been infected. The single core client for windows can just run in the background and you never see it. Also it is easy to stop, pause, restart or remove. Sometimes when you are burning disks you turn off your anti virus it a good idea to turn off folding too.
The SMP is for multicore machines and requires a dual core to be mostly dedicated to nothing but folding. Heavy duty gaming doesn't mix well with the SMP (and our cute chat for some reason requires huge amount of cpu power) So if you game a lot on your dual or quad the single core client would be better.
This is such an important thing you can do to fight disease and ease suffering of our children and grandchildren. My family has been devistated by Cancer. I don't ever want my kids to ever see or go through that again.

If you feel it is cruel to use other animals a test subjects this also helps them too. Instead of injecting an animal with a disease and watch it die to see what killed it. This is leading us away from that by using algorythms that simulate the way protien developes.
