    nasty spydawn

    i just got a bunch of systems in and they all have spydawn,(trojan),kids got it from my space,either dwnlds or codecs to look at them.this is a new improved version,very nasty.other techs i know just getting the same .just letting ya'll know. this is a pretty cool forum .

    Smitfraudfix will remove Spydawn, Spylocked, and a plethora of other desktop hijack malware and codecs.

    thnx, i used same ,big pain. i get mostly parents whose kids' comptrs are hosed from crazed dwnlds. love it! mo money--never stops

    I think my parents computer has this junk on it, I'll try some of this when I get home in a hr.  It sounds exactly like the problem my dad was telling me....

    it worked, but was there an update to internet explorer?  Now i am getting something about customizing internet explorer... is that right?

    It sounds like you updated from IE6 to IE7 which is a smart move IMO.

    That place has been infested with malware for over a year now. If you want visit MySpace here are some solid suggestions.

    1) Use a limited account in XP and a standard in Vista. Invoke a disallowed by default software restriction policy if you have XP Pro.

    2) Use Firefox w/ the No Script plugin

    3) Use a quality anti-virus 

    4) Use Powershadow
