Re: The Age Old Question: Console or PC? (POLL)
I voted Console mostly because all the gamers who play console (especially online) all have the same hardware and thus are all have the same advantage. Only skill (or luck, depending who you ask) can tell you who is the real winner at (blank) game.

Yea thats a very good point, plus you don't have the hackers as you would in a PC game.

Re: The Age Old Question: Console or PC? (POLL)
PC forever lol, although i love to play Mortal Kobat, Street Fighter and all sorts of fighting games on PS2, its just natural and easier just plug n play n button mash. But for FPS, RPG and RTS only PC.

Wow. PC FTW. Guess I should have added, "which do you prefer (overall)". Sort of difficult to do RTS on a console lol.

Re: The Age Old Question: Console or PC? (POLL)
They are really different. Consoles are fun and easy but are more like toys. All of todays consoles are now rapidly falling behind in technology with the next generation of consoles not due for years.
I voted P.C. even though I have both however all my really imersive games are on the p.c. My gaming PC is always leading edge as I am upgrading something on it every few months and the games that interest me are all P.C.
Asus Commando, QX6700@2.93, 4GB Corsair PC28500 Dom, Tt Armor case, BFG 1KW PSU, BFG 8800GTX OC, 2 Raptors in RAID 0 for OS and Apps & 2 Raptors in SATA for music and graphic files and a WD7500AAKS (.75Tb) for large files, video files and back up, X-Fi, 2 Samsung monitors 245t and 244t's @ 1920 X 1200, Plextor opticals, Aerocool, Zalman, Etc. ye, me too, since i bought my pc emachines i added second hard drive, second dvd writer, second stick of ram, graphics card, sound card, oh and replaced stock cpu fan cause the old one was a bit noisy, so yah i grew closer to my pc than my PS2 which collects dust lol. Plus PC is one stop for everything, gaming, homework, moview watching, music, radio, net surfing etc.

Re: The Age Old Question: Console or PC? (POLL)
I voted console only because of the ease of popping in a disc and start gaming. I love PC and would never want to play an RTS on anything other than PC, it's just so much easier with all those keys on the keyboard. The only thing I don't like about PC is unless you are constantly upgraded your PC, you will be out of date in about a month or two. With a console you could count on always being able to play the newest and hottest video games without worrying about the system requirements. I would much rather spend $400-$500 every 4 years than $200-$300 or more every 6months when the newest game starts to lag on your crazy gaming rig.

Re: The Age Old Question: Console or PC? (POLL)
To tell you the truth, I end up having more fun playing on a console with friends and a nice TV. And when I play a PC game online, I hate playing against someone who has a $5000 pc with gaming network card, mouse, keyboard and dual video cards. With playing a console online you don't have to worry about somone having the edge with their hardware since everyone has the same console, just like what root said.

Re: The Age Old Question: Console or PC? (POLL)
PC, Online play is greater then the console versions that I have seen and researched there is no console that can play BF2142, BF2, Crysis, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., ect... There are also some games made by Novalogic where you can build your own maps and put up to 120 players per map in a FPS. As for the RPG the most played is on the PC WoW is one of the many even though I do not play that game how ever there is a huge following for that game.
I do have consoles but that is mainly racing games.

Action/Rpg(Rpg qualities) games are the best IMO on consoles like God of war, ninja gaiden, Fable or Zelda.

Re: The Age Old Question: Console or PC? (POLL)
I've been gaming on both PC and consoles since the late 80's. I voted PC based on the amount of hours I spend gaming and my favorite genre which is the FPS. To be fair though you have to really look at the type of game. For arcade and racing games I'll always choose a console. Good racing games have always been rare for a PC. For me, a FPS was PC all the way BUT in the last few years with games like Halo, Resident Evil, Black, etc for consoles I find I enjoy playing them just as much. The PC advantage will always be modding a game and updates and patches (altho it's great that the next gen consoles are able to go online and update games now.) RPGs used to fall in the PC only category but they also have been shining on consoles in recent years. Still, offered only one I'd have to pick the PC - with a good build you have more power, better graphics and great 'immersive' games like STALKER popping up!

Re: The Age Old Question: Console or PC? (POLL)
I understand the competitive advantage arguement, but that should only go so far. You don't bring your beat up Volkswagon to a drag race!! LOL. Well unless of course you're Herbie, but that's another thread. If you're serious about your gaming to the point that getting high ranks and kills is going to make or breakl your day, then you build to fit your ego. Secondly, and it seems the PC games are getting more and more costly, but to me those console games fall under the crime of being held up without a gun!!! I don't have a console personally, but I have seen the prices on the games. And I have bought games for my little one's Nintendo hand held thing-a-mahjig there and they weren't cheap! Strangely, I agree with the toy comment, probably due to my bias to the almighty PC man!
So, go PC, yeah.
LOL, Peace, Penewah!
