Hard to believe that it is still in stock.  I thought it was going to be a big seller like the HD3870.

Would have to think newegg got alot more of these, than that first baby shipment of the 3870's

    Re: Phenom on the egg

i believe so ... they probably did get a whole bunch as amd might want to really get this product out there and at a cheap price...

and to be honest ....totally...these chips are  a bargain...i remember back in december i spent 140 sumthin on my x2 3800 ... now look at this

a quad core for a measily 100 more...needless to say think about when the x2s first came out...the cheapest one was about 550 ...so competition is good...support both amd  n intel more amd...we need them to survive...even though as of right now they are not really going anywhere

    Re: Phenom on the egg

Just read about the MSI board- sounded ok, im gona wait on the next chipset i guess-next year. Right on about the Intel/AMD, have run both but favor AMD. If they can march there 16,500 employees against Intels 100,000- im impressed. Got to try to keep the playing field even ,or like you said were all in trouble.

    Re: Phenom on the egg

and with intel looking like it want to force nvidia out of the chipset playing field...it doesn't look so good.

the reason i chose that msi board is that it is the only one that can actually hold four 3870s

its so funny amd is intel biggest competitor while being their biggest supporter.  supports xfire on all new intel chipsets...

    Re: Phenom on the egg

Was reading of Phenom- says they oc'ed from 2.4- to 3.0 with no problems, still ran cool. I know theres a lot of gamers out there that are screaming cause AMD aimed this batch of cpu's a mid level systems- but the higher ghz parts will get here someday, and we can all return to screaming at Vista lol. Glad my tired 939 is still rolling for now though.

    Re: Phenom on the egg

grabbed my 9500 from the egg. since i dont oc anyway and my athlon single core socket 754 1.8 ghz 3000+ is far slower than the phenoms, clock and core wise, im sure it will be a huge upgrade for me at least.
