I wouldn't trust that site at all... they can't even stop bots from coming in and spamming the customer review boards.

    "Author: analgnf
    order viagra eosnp
    order cialis mazyy
    cheap viagra
    cheap cialis"

I'm pretty sure that the Q6600 will go down in price very fast (after all, the price on newegg is controlled by a bot... the employess probably don't even know it got jacked up).

just looked at Tiger Direct, they are selling the B3 Stepping for over $500.   I should get my processor tomorrow, and if it's not GO then i'm sending it right back to them.   I didn't 100 extra bucks for B3.

Just got mine this morning.  No G0 stepping for me, so I guess I'll just go with the B3 and see how things work.  Only paid $320 for it a couple days ago so I'm not too worried.  Gonna wait until Penryn comes out before I buy another proc I guess.

Re: Has anyone received a SLACR Q6600 from newegg

I'm wanting a Q6600 G0 myself. Ranger you said you got a SLACR, I'm just wondering if NE has those why is the manufacturers info page not updated.  Is it they may have some of each and what you get is luck of the draw.

Wish there was some way to confirm they are all SLACR's, don't know if I want to risk it just yet without more people confirming they got one as well.

    Have a great day all.

My setup so far all ordered from Newegg except for the monitor and speakers. Got those both locally for under $200 combined during Memorial day specials.
My memory which seems to be non existent on NE now for some reason is OCZ2T8002GK. Come on Eggie bring it back as I need 2 more gigs. :o)

Its definitely not a sure thing if its not listed on the seller's info page:(  I'm assuming if i got SLACR then everyone else who ordered on/after the 24th should too?  Did anyone else get one before the 24th?  I just can't imagine them sending out GO stepping if they still had B3's left.  Then again what the hell do i know.  The only info page I saw that clearly labeled what you were getting was tigerdirect, but who's going to pay that much for a quad, regardless if its a b3 or GO.

Yea I'm going to wait till Monday I think, would not get it till after then anyways because of the weekend. I'm worried they have a batch of the mixed shipments I've been hearing about.  Plus there is the Manufacturers product page the still leads to

    http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL9UM

I want to see that baby change to SLACR. Come on Newegg, Give me an S, Give me a L, Give me an A, not going to finish the rest as it making me feel uncomfortable. Smoking Stick out tongue

Plus the price is dropping so hopefully my theory will work out on getting a SLACR and a lower price on Monday. Applause

Congrats on the G0 RangerJoe and also congrats to others that said they got one in the Q6600 cutomers review page.

RangerJoe can I get some temp readings please, want to see how the Zalman 9700 performs with the quad.

And Mweisbrod you ordered on the 21 and still have not received it? What did you do, choose a shipping option that sends your product on a 7 day Mediterranean cruise. Hmm

    Have a good one all.

EDIT: Yikes, I do believe TD has either gone completely mad or they messed up their page. They are charging just as much for the Q6600 as the Q6700. Always thought that site was shady not just in it's prices either, as a whole. Started when I used to see that late night infomercial guy hocking their products. I know I would not trust any company that puts out infomercials.

newegg probably mixed them together sort of like a drawing thing so it'll be more fair to their customers.

Re: Has anyone received a SLACR Q6600 from newegg

I'm beginning to wonder as Newegg is alot bigger and sells more volume I'm sure than some of these smaller sites that claim to have all GO's.

The Egg has sold out of the older SL9UM versions twice since Sunday that I know of. I'm thinking they are pretty much all G0's by now, have to be. I might be wrong though.

And don't think Newegg mixes them, It would be much to time consuming and expensive to do that. It is Intel that is/was sending out the mixed shipments as they said they would till all the old steppings are gone completely.

See they are now back up to a 5 per customer limit, that should take care of any left over B3's if there are any. Stick out tongue

    And what's B3?

Re: Has anyone received a SLACR Q6600 from newegg

B3 stepping is original version of the Q6600.  It uses 105 watts and has a 1066 MHz bus.  A GO stepping Q6600 is essentially the same thing, but it only uses 95 watts and has a faster bus of 1333 MHz.

Ok, no rush RangerJoe. Just thought maybe you had that bad boy up and roaring already.

    FYI:
Nefty you are incorrect as to the 1333MHz FSB, the new lower wattage, cooler running G0 still has the 1066MHz FSB as before the only difference is wattage which in turn makes it cooler running.

    B3

    vs.

    G0

And to all it seems the Egg may have a shipment of mixed Q6600's as someone reviewed today that they have received a B3 stepping. Luck of the draw right now it seems.

My anticipation is getting so great I'm wearing my anti-static wristband everywhere. Got to have that geeky bling. Stick out tongue

Re: Has anyone received a SLACR Q6600 from newegg

I'd be careful with ncix as well as some people are now reporting getting B3's as well. Think Intel is sending out mixed batches so it seems like luck of the draw. Here is what ncix has now posted on their page.

"We do not recommend you make purchasing decisions based on facts or opinions expressed in these reviews."

Also notice they put a 62.2? C in their specs as to the thermal design specs.

Even such places as tankguys that are taking G0 preorders is saying it may take a while for everyone to get theirs. They say they may get a mixed shipment at first and have to sort thru them all to send out the specific G0 orders.

The point being no one can guaranty the G0 stepping yet as long as Intel has B3's sitting in their warehouses.
Seems to be just a waiting game for the people that don't need or don't know to snatch up the last of the B3's.

Come on people buy, buy, buy Stick out tongue as I myself am getting impatient as well. I've been waiting since early March myself,  CPU is the last thing I'm waiting on.
