So I have a pretty new computer which has the s-video output and I want to run cable so I can watch the movies I have on my computer on my tv. The problem is that the tv i have is older and doesn't have a S-video connector. I'm pretty sure there is a way to get some sort of converter so the S-video cable from my pc will hook into my coax hook up on my tv. Any suggestions will be helpful!

You can get an RF modulator that will convert the svideo to the 75ohm antenna input. The quality of the picture isn't that bad either. These are available at many discount stores for about $30

What size tv are you hooking it up to?  The coax connection is the least favorable. Then composite then s video then component (red, blue, green) If you are planning to watch a lot of stuff on your tv, I would highly recommend that you hook up with at least S-video.  If you are just looking to mees around with what you already have, then I know radioshack will have a converter to take either composite or s-video to your coaxial connection.

Some will give you stereo sound and others only mono.

 

I had the same Problem. I got a Svideo to componrt video cable off Ebay for $6 shiped. It's just one yellow plug. I use the sound from my computer. It works OK.
