Bleach - Swords and spirit stuff like spiritual pressure (or power level)
Samurai Champloo - Swords
Blood + - Swords, vampires, so magical stuff.
Naruto (Part 1/ 220 Episodes) - Ninja stuff (if you like sword stuff) with magical stuff in a sense.
Naruto Shippuuden (Currently on ep 21 and counting/ Part 2)
That's all I can think of at the moment.

I went from Fullmetal Alchemist to Kenshin to Bleach, then to Bleach manga. I'd definitely recommend Bleach, though at times it seems a little too conventional and predictable. There's this good manga I've been reading called "Bokurano" that I liked too. For Bleach anime, I like Dattebayo subs, found here: http://yhbt.mine.nu/t/ Don't ever, EVER get the dubs! Not only are they far behind, but the voice acting is just bad :( I get the manga from here: http://www.blood-scanlations.com/

Hey there! Always happy to recommend a few titles to a fellow FMA fan! ^^
I second the vote for Bleach-- it's typical shounen anime at times, but the excellent voice acting and fairly well-animated fight scenes (and butt-kicking female characters ^^) make it a good sample of the genre.
For magical stuff, I highly recommend an oldie-but-goody: Record of Loddoss War OVA. (WARNING: DO NOT WATCH THE TV SERIES... except for the opening theme, which is magnficent. Sadly, the series cannot compare to it or to the original, 13-episode OVA). For comedic fantasy, I recommend a hilarious series called The Slayers, which doesn't have the nicest animation, but it sort of parodies all things fantasy, which a fan of the genre would enjoy.
For swordplay, I HIGHLY recommend Le Chevalier D'eon, a brand-new anime by Production I.G. Just jaw-droppingly awesome swordfights (they actually make the FENCING style look cool!). There are some alchemists and elements of magic in it as well, which you may enjoy.
I also recommend Samurai 7 by Studio GONZO, which is a semi-sci-fi rethinking of Akira Kurosawa's legendary The Seven Samurai movie. There are a few very nice swordfights, beautiful animation, and a compelling plot.
This one has nothing to do with swords or magic (in fact, it's in a totally different genre: mecha), but one of my other favorite series ever is Soukyuu no Fafner (called simply "Fafner" in the US). Fantastic writing and characters, really, really awesome voice acting, and the most awesome theme songs ever-- I recommend it to everyone because it didn't get nearly enough exposure in the US. The thing is, I highly DON'T recommend buying the official DVDs... the translations are just outrageously inaccurate and streamroll over the beautiful nuances in the original dialogue... so, uh, see if you can find someone with Anime-Empire fansubs... (but you didn't hear that from me =P).

Ah, that's right! They decided ppl well-versed in anime weren't as useful as ppl well-versed in mobos, LoL. ^^; Well, it is a tech forum, after all!
Thank you for the effort, Laddytekki, but considering my sad point-count remains where it is, it seems that rule is still in effect. ^^;
Good rec with Wolf's Rain! Critica1Hit, that's done by Studio Bones, the same studio that does FMA, so you might wanna check it out, too. ^__~

Yep, yep-- FMA as in Fullmetal Alchemist as in Hagane no Renkinjitsushi as in Hagaren~ ^___^ One of the only truly great animes with real mass-appeal to come out in recent years, ne? Such a great series, and again, what EXCELLENT voice acting. I'm so glad Romi Paku is finally getting the recognition she deserves-- all that talent and she was ignored for so many years (I'm guessing b/c she's Korean-Japanese). But a few good directors saw how great she was and cast her in the role of a lifetime. Seriously, when I hear Ed scream, "DARE KA IRU KAAA?!" after he sees that abandoned city underground and realizes what a horrible thing happened there... man, he's so wonderful. ^__^ <3 (and Romi-sama's so wonderful, too!)
AsYLuMDeMoN:Too bad they didn't continue it after the movie.
EDIT: You know, I just realized my answer contained a bit of a spoiler (or two). So, if you'd like to see the semi-spoilerific response, please highlight the white text below. ^__~
[Start of Spoiler]Yeah, I did want more FMA, but what would happen thereafter would be too depressing... after all, we know the a-bomb goes off historically, so that means they'd fail in stopping it, and because they're such good, moral ppl who carry the weight of the world on their shoulders without begrudging anyone, they'd feel so responsible (even though they're not). ;__; I love Ed and Al. It's a shame there aren't more ppl like them in reality.[End Spoiler]

I would definatley reccomend Black Laggon (one of my all time favorites) has a few swords
Hellsing Ultimate (skip the TV series its so bad compared to the OVAs)
Samurai Champloo is another good one
and as others have said Full Metal Alchemist ( Im still trying to find the movie so I can watch it but no one in my area seems to carry it).
Ill try to think of a few more because im positive I missed a few.

I would suggest and older anime, Fight Iczer 1, for classic sci/fi type horror with gals with light sabers. Only the original japanese dub will do on this one the english translation messed up the sound track to much.
Joe88 has alot of anime suggestions with out swords that are good as well.

I'm impressed. Someone finaly said the classic Berserk. As for anime with swords and lack of magic...hmm...*Flips through library of DVDs* I have nothing else to say here. Pretty much everything out of Shonen Jump (This includes popular anime such as Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, DragonBall + Z and whatnot) follow pretty much the same stories, concepts, faults and literature. This, for me anyway, does not make for an enjoyable story. Good guys vs. Bad guys just doesn't do it most of the time. I like my Science Fiction stories (Akira, any Gundam series), Fantasy (Escaflowne, Hellsing), Fan Service (Girls Bravo, Steel Angel Kurumi), Comedy (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Martian Sucessor Nadiesco) and Hentai (Won't get into this) but I can't stand Shonen Jump materials because they just seem all the same and suffer from weak plots, character development and slow stories (don't care about the manga excuse, if there was a problem with speed, you should wait when the manga is done).

Yes, if you're looking for on-going anime its the best ^_^ This is one of those rare shows I hope goes beyond 26 episodes. Though not beyond 52. I don't want it to deteriorate.

Clubbavich:I find it hard to believe that no one mentioned berserk... That's very little "magic" and a whole lot of swords, and a very bad-a** main character. it follows the mercenary band "The Band of the Hawk" and is quite an amazing series...it appears to take place in something similar to Europe during the middle ages... The first episode takes place after the rest of the anime... Seriously...check it out. I haven't seen Trinity blood, but it isn't as comedic or light-hearted as FMA (Even the ending of FMA is more light-hearted than berserk) It is action and gratuitous bloodshed.
Ah, yes-- Berserk! How could I have forgotten that one for sword fantasy genre? Excellent story, but as the others have said, some of the subject matter is very dark. Still, it's incredible worthwhile a series and the "happy" times so much sweeter for all the tragedy the main characters have to suffer. I definitely second that vote.
@Zero - I agree with you that shounen anime is generally very formulaic, but keep in mind, it's supposed to be fun and simple stuff for younger kids. (although I have to say Hikaru no Go and Death Note are NOTABLE exceptions to the rule in Shounen Jump Magazine) Still, I think even a lot of adults like a kick back to something funnier and lighter like that some times-- I'll admit I bust out the Bleach when I feel like something straight-forward and funny that isn't completely slapstick comedy like Excel Saga or something. :)
