    How to add port manually!

Printer does not work after installing new PCI adapter?

Sometimes the new ports do not get automatically added into the list of ports available for use by printers. They can be added manually :

In the Print Dialog, press the "Create a new Port" button, added a new "Local Port" with the name "LPT2" or "LPT3" as shown in the Device Manager.

When entering the name, use all capital letters, and do not put a colon (:) at the end of the name (like in the old DOS days).

Sometimes after adding the Ports(s) manually, the printer still does not work. In that case, delete the printer from the Control Panel, and then add it back in. The new Port should now be in the list, and all should go smoothly.
