I have Verizon Fios, which I'm not entirely certain encrypts their cable channels but I've heard they do, would a dual tuner card be completely pointless? (I use a set top box, which is why I say dual tuner may be pointless.) Maybe someone else who has verizon fios tv could tell me if they encrypt their cable channels so that only their set top box can tune them. I would test this but since I think they're required to transmit the signal digitally and then their set top box converts it back to analog so TV's can still watch without a converter box, none of our televisions tune digital.
42lh40 wall mount needed

anyone know a wall mount for a 42lh40 (its a lg btw) i need the complete set... of what ever you need to get
device to connect HR sgnls to 2TV's via RF link?

I want to connect HR component video and its audio to 2 TV's, at least one via RF link. I know there are such devices for composite video.....

I'm basically looking for a non-fancy setup for a HDMI enabled HDTV that's used for movies and gaming only. Space is limited so I probably don't have the best setup (seating, TV, speakers in position to each other).

It works fine as a HDMI TV, but when I connect it to either of the computers here, one xp, the other Windows 7, the display can't be properly configured horizontally. My other LCD monitor works perfectly.

I've tried the settings on the Auria itself, and also the nvidia graphics display on the computers. In both events, 1/3 of the display is off the screen, and the bottom third of the screen is black. I hate to return this if there's a way to figure it out I would, but Auria has no customer service and there's nothing on Google.

It occured to me thinking back where the problem may have started, is that from the auria display menu, I allowed auria to automatically select the proper settings for horizontal, vertical and so forth.

Also, it seems to me that the horizontal and vertical settings controls are reversed in the auria menu, so that adjusting vertical, adjusts horizontal, and adjusting horizonta, vertical.

It seems to me that if I could reset the Auria monitor, that would be a start, but there are no directions.

Corsair Labs 2009 HTPC Build Log

We did an HTPC build back in 2007 that was a lot of fun. But I was wondering if the graphics will be blurry if I hook up my PC to the HDTV compared to a 23.6 LCD monitor (ASUS VH242H). My monitor is 1080p and I plan to connect my PC to a HDTV thats 1080p as well through an HDMI cable. The only difference would be the increase in screen size and maybe the response time.

Will the graphics still be clear? Would I be better off just getting a monitor that have a built in TV in it (around the same size as my current monitor?)

Thanks for the help, I googled some of the answers online and it seems that some people had been getting blurry graphics on the HDTV but it was cause the resolution was different.

Samsung 40" LCD TV shipping to third floor apt.

Hi everyone,

I live on a third floor apartment and will be purchasing the Samsung 40" LCD TV off of Newegg (best!). Will the shipper bring the TV up to my apartment? I don't care if he doesn't bring it inside my apartment, but I was just wondering if they will carry it up? It is pretty heavy and I am one person.

Thx

Wii 4x more reliable than PS3, 9x more than Xbox

Sep. 3, 2009 (9:02 am) By: Matthew Humphries

SquareTrade point out that without the RROD issue the Xbox 360 fails just a little bit more than the PS3 so it is worse, but not by much. It also points out a number of customers go directly to Microsoft with their problems and don’t tell SquareTrade even if they have a warranty plan. That unknown could push the failure rate up further....

I got my hdtv yesterday and hooked it up to DirecTv, and it fried the box. It immediately tripped the breaker, so I tried just the tv on a different cicuit;I got snow & autotune. When I added another box and hooked up the yellow, white, & red it fried the box & tripped the breaker, but the tv stayed on. I think it's a short in the tv, so Newegg is sending another. What do you guys think?

Both have same throw ratios.

I want to use this projector in my room for movies, and maybe sometimes gaming. I'm trying to cover a wall that is probably around 110-150". I'm thinking about getting one of these because I want a projector that is light in weight so it is portable.

This will the first projector that I have ever bought. Help would be appreciated. Any comments or advices?

Large TV (40-49") choices

I have narrowed down the large TVs to a few that seem to be of relatively good quality and price (mostly from newegg, but any other trustworthy company is fine, too).

The main one that my grandmother is interested in is the LG 47LH30 as it is the one I most highly recommended. Now that you have an idea of how large of a TV we are looking for, have you got any other ideas for good quality/price TVs in the 40-49" range?

The Samsung's are nice, but they are a touch pricey in my opinion. But any options are open for fairly priced choices.

Thanks!

Looking to Buy a Good Recording Headset

I'm having trouble finding reviews on Newegg from customers who bought microphone headsets for recording. 99% of them seem to say they are good for gaming or chatting, but that's about it.

Could someone please let me know of a good headset to specifically record scripts for video game reviews?
