I am an avid FSX (Microsoft Flight Simulator X) user in desperate need of a graphics card upgrade. Currently running a NVIDIA chip GeForce 6150se nForce 430 with dismal frame rate results jumps from 4.0 fps to 20 fps and everything in between looking for a constant 20-40 fps not trying to be greedy but the better the frame rate the happier I'll be. Now my computer is physically small has pretty descent power for what I use it for but makes it a challenge to swap out hardware. My system is an emachines EL1352-23e. Has an AMD Athlon II X2 255 3.10 GHz dual-core processor 500GB hard drive 4GB DDR3 memory with Windows 7 64-bit OS. I've been told I need a low-profile graphics card (hoping to avoid upgrading my power supply) also to look for a PCI express x16 slot 2.0. I do not have an HD display.

GPU power 0%

hi there i've build my pc for 2 months now for the past few months i've been experiencing annoying things
one of the things is that when im playing Dota2 and suddenly my computer froze. i thought its because my graphic card is overheating, so i use MSI afterburner to change the fan speed also i place my computer right infront of my A/C so that it would get cool air. on MSI afterburner i change the fan speed to 50,60 then 70 still this problem came. however now i see that the power percentage on my GPU is 0 the i cant provide with screenshot because It lags even outside the game. i've reset it then it goes smoothly i play again next few minutes it froze again.
i dont know the problem i've searched for this kind of problem everywhere and still nobody has the same problem. so i need answers and suggestion if something is wrong.

New Computer Builder Blue Screen

New to building computers... The modeling program I use is a 32 bit program, so I wanted to overclock as clock speed makes a huge difference in the modeling program usability. The computer works great, but.. Typically when rendering (Maxwell render) and it is using all the cores 100%.

I currently have it overclocked only with the tpu switch.. 4.1ghz

The components are asus p9x79/ intel i7 3930/ corsair dominator 32gb/ corsair 850w 80+/ corsair h100i radiator/ nvidia quadro 4000 / samsung pro 500gb.
Temperatures are very stable.. 73 c was the highest I saw in the 8 hr stress test. The Power minimums all read -10000.

Again I really don't know what I am doing so hoping to get some ideas of where to start. I'm having 2 problem with this mobo. In administrative event viewer I get these 2 errors. Asus p8z77-v pro
Event id 13<---I get this every 1 or 2 days
: The embedded controller (EC) did not respond within the specified
timeout period. This may indicate that there is an error in the EC
hardware or firmware or that the BIOS is accessing the EC incorrectly.
You should check with your computer manufacturer for an upgraded BIOS.
In some situations, this error may cause the computer to function
incorrectly.

Event id 137---->I get this every time I put the PC to sleep
The system firmware has changed the processor's memory type range
registers (MTRRs) across a sleep state transition (S4). This can result
in reduced resume performance.

If you don't see these errors could you tell me:
1. What BIOS version you're using?
2. What is the EC and ME version in the BIOS? You can see it in the time & date settings.
3. Are you using secure boot?
4. What chipset driver are you using?

mobo doesn't recognize keyboard (sort of)

Hi all,

I just put a new system together and when it boots, it stops at the BIOS screen... Keyboard input doesn't seem to work except for control / alt / delete, which works fine. Tried three different keyboards: PS/2, wired USB and a brand new wireless USB, all with the same results.

The drive I have is clean and needs to have windows installed on it,but the system doesn't try the DVD drive. I suppose because it isn't configured yet in the BIOS.

I'm using the Gigabyte x79-up4 mobo in conjunction with Gigabyte GTX 660 video card and an i7 3820 processor. The splash screen for the bios appears, but then I can't enter the bios. After a bit of time, a black screen appears with random characters on a few lines containing the letters m, e and i. I swapped out the 660 with an old video card from 2004 and was able to enter the bios successfully and saw that my cpu was being seen correctly.

I thought that it could be an issue with my Season M12II 620w Bronze PSU not being able to power the card, so I just tried a Thermaltake 850 with 72A continuous on a single rail today (the 620 psu used dual rails of 24A and the GTX 660 has minimum specs of 430w psu with 24A) and still got the same issue. Therefore, I'm certain it's not the PSU.

So, I updated the mobo drivers from F2 to a beta F3 and still the same issue. So, NOW I'm thinking it's a either A) a bad video card and needs to be RMA'ed or B) there is some type of compatibility issues with a the GIGABYTE x79-up4 mobo and GIGABYTE GTX 660 (I would think this is unlikely). I hope to be able to test the video card in another machine on Tuesday... but was curious to what info anyone else could share before then. Thanks.

Intel Core i7-3820 Sandy Bridge-E 3.6GHz LGA 2011

GIGABYTE GA-X79-UP4 LGA 2011 Intel X79

SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze 620W

CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 1600

GIGABYTE GV-N660OC-2GD GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-bit

SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series MZ-7PD256BW 256GB SATA III MLC SSD

3 x Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM SATA III

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO

LG Bluray Burner (WH14NS40)

Rosewill BLACKHAWK Gaming ATX Mid Tower

Seagate GoFlex / Repeater Cable problem??

Is the Syba USB 3.0 Repeater Cable compatible with a Seagate GoFlex Desk?

So anyways the new mobo is the of the same manufacturer but it's a slightly newer model it's an MSI 970A-G46

I have a sapphire Radeon HD 6970, two 4gb corsair vengeance RAM, AMD phenom 2 black edition hex-core CPU, and a corsair hx750w PSU, and a 128 gb samsung SSD.

I know everything should be compatible together, but correct me if I'm wrong please.

The main issue at hand is that I popped in the new motherboard hooked everything up the way it should be but my computer just won't POST properly, it seems... I know many people say to go in and flash your bios etc. but I can't even get into BIOS. I don't know whether or not my CPU has failed on me as a result of the previous board failing, or what. I reformatted my solid state drive in a different computer but it had no affect on fixing my gaming rig.

What happens when i start up my computer is that it will only let me use my keyboard and mouse / monitor about 50% of the time. So I have to keep hard rebooting my rig to try and get into the BIOS. However once I actually get into the BIOS, if I touch the mouse or keyboard, it'll freeze. It also freezes at the windows splash loading screen (currently running windows 7) the red and green dots show up, and the keyboard and mouse turn off, and the screen just stays frozen at the load in.

This happens EVERY time i try to run the computer. I can't get into any boot menus because I still have the same issue if i press any buttons on my keyboard or mouse, etc. It just freezes.

Currently trying another fix i found floating on the internet, I am going to install the motherboards drivers to my hard drive on a different rig then try it again. Honestly at this point I just don't know what it could be. Signs are leading towards the thought that maybe my CPU or my RAM have maybe gone bad? Any advice would be nice...

If it helps, the PSU and the graphics card are both brand new and 100% working.

Also I have tried to put in an older radeon card i believe it's a 4xxx model, thinking that maybe my 6970 was too much for the new mainboard to recognize but it made no noticeable difference when trying to boot my computer.

Any help is appreciated.

Foxconn Motherboard Switchout?

I am replacing a A78AX-K motherboard gone bad. recently started experiencing very bad artifact and GPU driver crashing
issues.

Revelent hardware:
Intel I5 3750k @Factory clock
Asus P8H77M-CSM
EVGA GTX 660 TI @Factory clock
Corsair TX650 V2

What I am experiencing has been artifacting in games and sometimes even on Windows when a few Firefox windows are open..
Tested the card on Furmark and the thing starts artifacting at like
50C. The highest the card has ever been seen at is low 60's.
Furthermore, I have had the Nvidia drivers crash and somehow lock my
core(as seen in Precision X) at 1058Mhz which is way above even the
boost clock.

Tried underclocking and changing driver version but so far nothing have been helping.

Any help would be appreciated before I RMA this thing.

Thank you.

XFX Radeon HD6870 Fan Woes

Hey guys,

I have a XFX Radeon HD6870 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150561[1] ), and recently the fan quit working.

I removed the card from my machine and gave it a good dusting to no avail. How do I get three monitors in Eyefinity working?!!!!!1"

(Gross overuse of punctuation was purposeful.)

I am not one of those people. I have been through all of it before:

I have a great Sapphire HD 5750 card ( it specifically states on AMD's site that the 5750 is capable of up to three monitors).

I have two monitors connected to digital outputs: HDMI and DVI (though I've done it with DVI and DVI-- it's the same).

I have one monitor connected to the DisplayPort. The monitor is HDMI, but I have an ACTIVE DisplayPort to HDMI adapter-- yes, active. I understand all too well that only two digital outputs can be used at the same time and that the third monitor absolutely HAS to be on the DisplayPort. I know all too well that if I have to use an DisplayPort to HDMI/DVI adapter, it HAS to be active.

I tried each monitor individually in each port, and all of them work just fine.

"Oh, well your adapter was probably cheap. They said it was active, but it's probably just a passive one sold by some cheap company that doesn't even know the difference themselves."

Yes, I found a good deal for an active adapter, but there's more to this than one would think at first: three monitors worked just fine without a hiccup in Linux Mint. Now that I'm using Windows 7, I can only use two. Every time I try to extend to the third monitor, both Catalyst Control Centre and Windows' Screen Resolution applet tell me no. Well, CCC specifically says I have to disable one monitor to enable another, and Windows tells me that the settings could not be saved.

So before anyone tells me it's a bad adapter or a bad port or a bad card, how can this be hardware related at all if it works fine in Linux and awful in Windows?

Another point I omitted: Before I installed Linux Mint, I was trying to do this same thing on Windows Vista, and I had the exact same problem.

So. This is not just another one of those posts by someone who has no idea he has to use the DisplayPort and that his adapter must be an active one. I'm stumped! How can I get this done?

Perhaps there's some silly registry setting I can alter to force it? The hardware is very capable. And supposedly the software is, too. But there's a disconnect somewhere in between.

I don't know if there's something I can do to dump some info on what my computer sees these monitors as. Perhaps for some reason the active display port isn't being recognized with Windows and Windows drivers, so the card is attempting to still send out another HDMI signal? I really have no idea.

haf xm side latch not closing

So I just got the case delivered, took it out of the box, and saw the side panel is leaning opening in the front upper corner. If it is plugged in without the 6-pin, it boots fine while connected via the onboard video.

Below are the full specs of the system

BioStar A880GZ

AMD FX-4100 Zambeezi 3.6Ghz

Gigabyte GTX 650 2Gb 128-bit

G.Skill Sniper Low Voltage DDR3 1600 - 2x4Gb

Samsung 840 120GB SSD

Thermaltake PSF500V-30 (TR2 RX-550PP)

I've attempted to update the BIOS (no luck obviously), I've placed the video card in my new system (boots fine), put my old GT220 in this one (boots fine), put my 600W Corsair supply in this one (no boot).

Any help is greatly appreciated

displayport to hdmi, p8z77-v deluxe

I have just completed my first build and have a Asus p8z77-v deluxe mobo. I have two Asus monitors that I am trying to hook up. The mobo has an HDMI output and a displayport output. The HDMI works just fine, however, I cannot get the monitor to work that is hooked up to the displayport. I am using a displayport to HDMI converter (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812340009). This converter is passive and I get no HDMI signal at all, black monitor. Do I need an active displayport to HDMI converter? Would this work to hook up my second monitor with HDMI?:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815158348&IsVirtualParent=1

I would appreciate any help or suggestions!

Win8 - IRQL BSOD

I am getting the IRQL not less than or equal" BSOD when attempting to update/install the driver for my new GB 7850 2Gb card.
* For Overclocking help, go to:

* Name your Title with your problem

- No titles like "Help Needed" or anything similar.

- Example: "RAM not working" (without the quotation marks)

* Give as much information as you can on your System.

* Do not repeat answers that others have already answered.

The Search window in the upper right hand corner is very useful. search posts not threads most of the time.

Google and Yahoo are huge. just typing your problem in the window will likely bring a result.

As JCarlos stated earlier label your problem thread correctly. This will bring help the fastest and will help others find the same answer easier. Panic labels do not help. for example:

Wont Run Help!!!!!!!!!

or

Help Just Died!!!!!!!!!

doesn't tell anybody that might be very knowledgeable with your problem that they have a great chance of helping you easily. A better label would look like:

"Vista Home Premium64 wont shut down"

And also as JCarlos stated before always list all of your components including model numbers. This way the person helping you knows exactly what they are dealing with.

Thanks and Good Luck
