Great community I wish I still had my old Dell pc to send you with. If this thread was posted 2 years ago probably was going to be a good donation.

I send stuff out all the time at work, well actually I just bring whatever I am sending to the receptionist and it magically goes wherever I am sending it so I don't really ever deal with shipping things other than regular mail which is just a drive by the post office drop box.

Man, I cannot give away my computer stuff. Though I do not really want to go through the hassles of shipping things out, but then I am not looking all that hard I suppose.

I'm not using any of the stuff. Its all just sitting around collecting dust. I'd rather it go to someone who can use it.

To keep things on the save side, I'll send you a bootable CD with powermax (which is great to erase the whole hard drive if you decide to give up Linux and get back to Windows).

Whenever I try Linux I'll make sure to do partition that allows a dual boot^^ There's too much stuf on Windows that I'm used to for me to switch over entirely. But I will keep PcLinux in mind whenever I can give it a shot.

I know what you mean, lol. This whole things brings back a memory when I was back in high school. Dropped my laptop and cracked the screen. Had to wait until my summer job to replace it.

I probably don't have anything of use, but...
My old stuff:
External hard drive 10gb(USB attachment), optical mouse(with a cord [yuck]), flash drive 128mb, speakers Logitech(what I was thinking buying these for a laptop, I never understood five minutes after I got them home, lol), webcam also Logitech, headset(also wires).

And I'm not sure if that dvd drive mentioned earlier is a burner or not. If so I've got about 40+ dvd-rws if you'd care for some. That 50 pack was way beyond my data consumption abilities, lol.

Sadly I gave away all useful stuff before my birthday (that was the official day to stop being a Packrat)

There is something I can do for you MewMint. I read somewhere on the thread that the OS was W2k or 98? With the components the guys are giving you, it would be a good machine to run a Linux Distro, I've successfully tested the PCLinuxOS with some of my customers, and so far no complain, it is the most like Windows/Vista (transparent cute windows and stuff) of all Linux distros, it's easy to install, and more stable than Vista of course. If you want to give it a try I can send you by regular mail a live CD ready to install, in case you don't like that one I can include an Ubunto and Suse DVD as well. To keep things on the save side, I'll send you a bootable CD with powermax (which is great to erase the whole hard drive if you decide to give up Linux and get back to Windows),
