Hello to all :) Just introducing myself. I'm a long time computer user and currently a student taking computer networking classes. Hopefully I can learn from some of you and also help.

46" HDMI as computer monitor--help me config?

Hi out there,

I am planning on buying a 46 or 47" HDMI LCD to use as a computer monitor and Home Theater Monitor in my studio. I do web design and want to resize screens and display 4 at a time. (I understand the resolution issues for display--I just want to find a computer and LCD that are compatible) I also like Home Theater and am planning on adding a 5.1 sound system in the room. The third use for this studio is for audio recording (mostly voice-over) and for video editing (my talented daughter).

I am looking for a computer to handle these tasks, and a monitor that is compatible. (Time to upgrade--PC or Mac--I have both now) I use Adobe Audition for my Audio. I use Adobe Creative Studio 4, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash, etc, for web design. I'm still looking for a good video editing software suite for my daughter. She is very talented. She has been using Windows Movie Maker, but is ready to graduate up.

I will probably buy a separate Blu-Ray dvd player and not try to run movies through the computer, unless there is a cost effective blueray computer solution that you know of. By the way, this room is 8 ft wide by 9' deep. I will be sitting 3-6 ft in front for web design and video editing. We will be sitting 6-9 ft away for movie watching. The room is double walled and sound balanced.

I am also looking to buy an 1080 projector for a 16' x 20' room in my house. The screen (100" diagonal) (16:9) and 5.1 sound are installed, but it's time for the Hi-Def video. I need the Blu-Ray DVD player two and am looking for recommendations too. I would like to be under $1000 for the projector and below $150 for the Blu-Ray.

I'm buying soon--may be looking for some Black Friday deals. I like to buy quality at a good value. Not the cheapest, and not the luxury.

Nice to meet you. I'm Shawn. I live in Pa. 20 years old. Self employed.

Doing my first build soon and felt like I should join to my learning a little easier and more straightforward than YouTube videos. -_-

I'm building my system to support a multi user setup. On the host station, I'm doing a tri-display setup and the system will have two other work stations with dual monitors. I'm gathering enough information to have a semi firm grasp as to how to get this all set up. (At least I think so)

i tend to keep away form a lot, and a lot wont become friends with me cause i really dont get in to the met up on the net, because all i have delt with lets have sex. so i dont chat much with guys based on what i have had to deal with in the last few years.

I'm having to try and keep tring to make a living on the net as it is. and really im bord with a lot on the net anymore.

I have gone through friends who had stuck with me and have lost touch due to net i****s not people being people, all seemed to act like a moronic i****s on line these days.

i met up with some real cool and polite people dont get me wrong. but i again get bord hearing the same bull c**p lies people tell to make them self look good. i have never hid or lied on the net why? they that stupid to challenge me in real life? by all means lets get the game on then lol.

but im really a cool person i just seem to get caught up with morons and i****s never get the cool ones anymore or normal people who really talk or i dont met up with those interested in what i do.

i have accounts of no friends and thats all cool, but if i ever make star ill remember all who was not a friend then.

i know its sour but hey this is what i have dealt with many years, a lot of disrespect hateful acts and for what? oh yea they think they are so powerful on the net and really... well ill shut up lol, but glad to be here nice to met ya if your cool and a repectful person or people, and sofar i like not having the list of none talking or none iterested so called friends.

but you wouldnt tell on mypage at myspace 200 almost of friends and huimm they are real and do talk. some think an app on myspace is a way to a persons heart or a way to talk, and umm thats no longer an issue. i removed the apps so now you have to talk and if no replies after a few coments or questions, off the list and trash the name. its no good and its not a real person far as i can tell. so ill kick them and remove them. I'm just wasting my time to even talk to dead air lol.

But as i said im well aware of the net the tricks the tips and more.

no one i know yet has beat my time on the net ever, my hours and time is way more then a lot know. hell i had to see a doctor cause i spend to much time working on pcs all day from up to sleep.

im alone dont have kids now mine died in the early 90's his name was Aaron Michael, so im open and have a lot of free time on my own, no i dont take the net to heart only the people i met and others acting like an a--- i rub off like a peice of dirt they tend to act like is all.

I just joined and already been able to read various information posts!

I'm 80 years old and have a lot to learn in a limited amount of time, I'll try not to be a bother but I'm not very well informed in Computers and have no one to go to for help. I have ordered a new Lapotop as my old Desktop harddrive sounds like its got a bad bearing and I need my computer to read news and Email others. The Computer has given me a whole new outlook on life in General . I have Macular Degeneration and am unable get around like I used too, so I will be (hopefully) able to read the posts and make things better for me. I will not be a pest on the Forums but might want to ask some questions to help me out with the Computer,

Hi....... I recently joined after lurking a while and have been able to get some good info for my latest build for home and some great opinions on upgrading older office pcs. I have an interest in technology dating back to 1970 whilst working for a well known company that printed keypunch cards. First pc was an XT and have built a few pcs over the years. I employ and oversee a Tech so I don't spend much time on systems or networks these days.I do however like to remain somewhat current with whats going on and do get under the hood from time to time.

HI people....im new here..i just bought monitor and a gaming PC from newegg...and it ROCKS!!!!! love u newegg!! i hope i won from the windows 7 sweepstakes!!!...

uhmm i need help..i dont know where to post this but..just need help in DVI cables..and...my gaming pc has 9500 nvidia GT card it has VGA and DVI.. the DVI on my gfx card is DVI-I Dual Link and on my monitor the DVI cable is DVI-D Dual Link ...how can i connect my PC to my monitor with different cables on it..... i've already search in newegg like DVI to HDMI and DVI- I to DVI- D and i cant seem to find it.....please help mee... i wanna experience whats the diff between with the VGA and DVI...i was about to buy last night..i just cant find it....

please help.... I AM SORRY my english is poor..and sorry cause i dont know where to post this...
