MassiveOverkill is Right- on with his observations. .......NewEgg, why mess with what was probably the best laid out Computer site out there, and then try to fashion it after something lessor like TigerDirect??!?? If something works well then DFWI .....

Yeah I totally agree, the new layout is not as pleasing as the old setup. I loved neweggs setup before they ruined the search engine and revamped the whole site. Also hate the fact that UPS is the default shipper. Everything I have received from the egg from UPS has had extremely damaged boxes, thank goodness newegg packages up things well. But I personally will not order a hard drive from them anymore after receiving boxes that damaged. Who wants a banged up and thrown around the truck hard drive? Not me. Now I have to pay extra for good shipping through FED-EX.

They gave us the option before of using detailed or summary view, so why in the hell do they all of a sudden have to shove the detailed view down our throats?

At the very least, make the rows of the new layout size down to only the area needed to display what you have selected. Looking at the previous posters image, there is white space below the egg rating that is completely wasted. That would help, though not solve the problem.

And with the new view, the selected descriptions that they show are screwed up too. When I am looking at switches for instance, I usually don't care when comparing two models what humidty it likes to operate in. Without all of the switched displaying all of the same descriptions, it doesn't do you any good to speak of.

Execpt that the detailed view you just posted takes literally 5 times the vertical space that the summary view used to take, so instead of being able to view 15 or so items on a single page without scrolling, those same 15 items take up freaking 5 pages.

Very simply if you click "Customize your results" you can get back the details, eggs, etc...

Thank you SC! I was coming here to complain about the ratings not being visible anymore.

I still preferred the previous look of searches. Ratings are one of many tools I use in purchase determination.

Also miss the specs too.

I guess that they need to offer two versions of the search, this new cutesy crap for people who don't know what they are actually looking for, and one "with the specs in your face" like several people have mentioned. My wife can vouch for how pissed off I was when I saw the change. So much so that since we have an account at work with D&H, that between them and ZipZoomFly, I won't use Newegg anymore. I don't understand why people have to screw with things that work.

Why would they change? The old way was to efficient-- they hid virtually every feature that I used on a daily basis from the home page. This sux!

I don't like it much either. Things are oversimplfied and the specs missing I do not like. Also took me too damn long to figure out how to show the eggs.
