I wish everyone posted their system specs. It really makes more sense if someone is complaining about terrible frame rates on their 8800GT if they also said their running a 2.2GHz Celeron. System specs put reviews into perspective. Also, I feel better about buying Opterons for my motherboards when users state that their opteron is working with a certain board, and so forth.

I never go completely by reviews, as most of them just make for good laughs. you can tell who knows what their talking about though. Just wish i didn't have to weed through 200 others to find those 1 or 2 who do.

I generally read all the reviews. Might seem silly but its not a bad way to learn about components. For example back in the day I didn't know much about graphics cards, and just reading the reviews on newegg taught me what each of the stats about the card meant.

But yeah, I would never base a purchase strictly off of the newegg reviews. There are a lot of non-technical people posting on there.

I have to agree, my tech level is low, and I say it. I don't trust even the lingo laced reviews, it's too easy to pick up a couple of terms and pretend you know what you're doing. I don't think there's a way around it, I think that Newegg has to rely on the good faith of it's customers, but I don't really trust them. I go to other sources for reviews of products.

I read through them all as well. However, I'd jsut as soon NOT have to read through reviews that are blatantly unrelated or utter hogwash, lol. Narrow the reading pool to at least semi-valid entries.

Maybe, but I've no complaints.. I tend to read all the reviews critically before I make a buy decision. In addition to specs research and a quickie google as well.

I think the point is the reviews that are very obviously offbase, I read though some last night that has gotten me tempted to start a "worst review" thread.

One last night was so clearly rating his video card, problem was the review was left on a PCI ADAPTER page.
