I tried on higher core voltages up to 1.4 and it last less time and with highest(green settings) on other things.The more volts the less time it last.....dont know why....and the volts stay the same on molex connection....

Just keep testing with higher Core, PLL, MCH and VTT voltages.

I use an Ultra X3 1000 watt power supply. It isn't the greatest but it does power my quad under full load at 4.8GHz.

I dont know if its the PSU anymore......no matter what the volts stay at 12.12(under load and anything). When the OC fails it is at 12.12 still....

been busy lately....

well if i run prime95 the temperature never goes over 55C and i used a multimeter and checked on the molex connector.

What PSU do u use?

Voltage readings from software are more or less useless.

On my DFI board software would read 12.39-12.40. After changing the motherboard to a Gigabyte software reads 12.10-12.20. The only change was the motherboard. My multimeter has kept true to its reading of 12.45V no matter which motherboard is used.

I would run OCCT to test your overclock. It will give you a graph of all your temps and voltages and save them to log files for you to review.

Higher voltage causing less stability could be cooling related.

Watch RealTemp while you run Prime95 and keep an eye on the temperature.

What did you use to check the power supply voltage?

12.12V and 5.08V are both fine. It is best to check power supply voltage during load. Run a program like Furmark and run Prime95 Blend at the same time then check the voltage.

it was the dam PSU........i checked and the 12v was at 12.12 and the 5v at 5.08 -.-

and when i put the Vcore higher it lasted less time......thought corsair was good quality.........plus 750watts........

ok i tried everything and now it still resets...... it passes the test with 6X multiplier but at 9X it restarts at 1hr in test. Now i put the Vcore up to 1.325 and it last less than an hr.....set the vcore to 1.35 and resets in less than 30mins and anything higher is less than 30mins. I tested the volts on the PSU and they are over 12v and 5v so dont think its the PSU.

Is the northbridge the one next to the cpu/ram? Yes

How do i test with a multiplier set to 6? Do i start at 1066FSB with Multiplier at 6?(dont think it boots with those settings) or do i test at 1333FSB and 6X CPU multiplier then switch to 9 or 7...8...then 9?

Set your FSB to 1333 if you are trying to achieve 3GHz using a 9 time multiplier then decrease the multiplier to 6X and run Prime95 Blend for a few minutes. If it doesn't crash try out some games or whatever for a while using the 6 time multiplier and 1333FSB. If it is still fine increase the multiplier back to 9 and do the same test as before. If it crashes or fails the test it more than likely needs higher Vcore. If it crashes or fails at a 6 time multiplier the Vcore is more than likely high enough and the problem exists with the northbridge or RAM.(VTT, PLL, NB voltage or RAM settings)

northbridge has a fan it just went up to 100C out of no where, even tho the room temp is low, and whats with the weird temps(when room is hot it is cold and when room is cold it is hot?!?!?!?!(it never goes over 30C when room is 30C)Is the northbridge the one next to the cpu/ram?

If it has gone to 100C my guess is that would be the northbridge temperature. I recommend getting a fan on the northbridge heatsink as Nvidia chipsets are normally very hot.

Southbridge temperatures are pretty much insignificant.

I recommend you keep testing FSB speeds with a 6X CPU multiplier. It helps to rule out CPU instability caused by too low of Vcore which allows you to concentrate your efforts on the real problem.

Large FFT and Small FFT. Ill try Blend.

On hardware Sensors Monitor 4.4 it says Mainboard temps are at 30C when room temp is at 30C but when the room temp is at 60F it is at 42C and it even reached 100C twice? is that the NorthBridge temps or SouthBridge and is that normal?

Did you run Blend, Large FFT or Small FFT in Prime95? Blend is the best one for stability testing.

So even tho it passes the stress test then its still unstable?

Then i guess i aint buying the Cooler master V8 heatsink
