But in the meantime, in the here and now, this is by far the easiest
recommendation we’ve been able to make for an NVIDIA flagship video
card. NVIDIA’s drive for efficiency has paid off handsomely, and as a
result they have once again captured the performance crown.

NVIDIA’s cards have always done well at Battlefield 3, which puts the
Radeon HD 7900 series in a bad position from the beginning. Short of the
GTX 680’s massive lead in the Portal 2 bonus round, this is the single
biggest victory for the GTX 680 over the 7970, beating AMD’s best by 28%
at 2560, and by continually higher amounts at lower resolutions.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/5699/nvidia-geforce-gtx-680-review/1

Linux Kernel Exploit Affecting Linux 3.3 To 3.8

I just found out this breaking news and wanted to share. BTW - The one of us still using a Linux distribution featuring a Kernel less than 3.3 don't need to worry.

A Linux kernel exploit was made public this weekend that affects
versions of Linux going back to the 3.3 kernel. This exploit allows for
user-space programs to gain root access through a bug in the kernel's
networking code.

It uses a Linux monolithic kernel and boots into a Gecko-based runtime engine, which lets users run applications developed entirely using HTML5, JavaScript, and other open web application APIs.
The most interesting parts are that is free from proprietary technology and that the whole user interface is a Web app. It will be competing directly with iOS and Android.

More details about Firefox OS at the Mozilla Developer Network.

Since Mozilla announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona the first phones that would carrying it, a lot has been written, but the articles I found more informative are these:

Firefox OS Turning Up Heat On Apple And Google (Forbes)
Why Firefox OS may balance out the smartphone industry (USA Today)
