Linux Kernel Exploit Affecting Linux 3.3 To 3.8

I just found out this breaking news and wanted to share. BTW - The one of us still using a Linux distribution featuring a Kernel less than 3.3 don't need to worry.

A Linux kernel exploit was made public this weekend that affects versions of Linux going back to the 3.3 kernel. This exploit allows for user-space programs to gain root access through a bug in the kernel's networking code.

OUYA: The Next Big Thing in Console Gaming?

Over the last 24 hours or so, a new, open source, $99 dollar, Ice Cream Sandwich-, Tegra-3-based gaming console has been taking the web by storm, earning 3 million dollars on Kickstarter in this small amount of time- http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ouya/ouya-a-new-kind-of-video-game-console

At first I was really excited about it, but the more I think about it, the more I feel even the $99 dollar investment isn't worth it, will it last? Can the hardware hold up? How open source is it? With all these questions, and not many answers, I think I'll stick to my PC.

Any thoughts, opinions?

Firefox OS - Mozilla's mobile operating system

Firefox OS is a new mobile operating system developed by Mozilla. It uses a Linux monolithic kernel and boots into a Gecko-based runtime engine, which lets users run applications developed entirely using HTML5, JavaScript, and other open web application APIs.
The most interesting parts are that is free from proprietary technology and that the whole user interface is a Web app. It will be competing directly with iOS and Android.
