also running 1 TB seagate external drive for storage and backup
Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
All went together well and seems to run ok with the following exceptions:
1. calling up some items on desktop take longer than on my 6 year old computer.
2. MSI control center populates with all info except for processor information. Not there at all and no way to refresh.
3. When I go to a game now on my gaming servers where I USED to get 17 to 22 ping..I am not getting 45 to 55 ping....on all gaming servers I play I am getting an extra 25 to 30 ping...
note: nothing has changed with my internet. I connected my old computer back up and it ping goes back to normal.
so, I updated all drives, I tweaked the heck out of win 7 so it runs faster turning off items not necessary. No change!
I tried different cable to router, no change!
I tried unhooking direct line to router and plugged in my wireless network card, no change!
I have not overclocked as I want to get it running right first...this hardware should run much faster than my old system....
I tried to call MSI to help with what I should look for...thinking maybe the motherboard was not seeing all the data as it does not populate the information for the processor..their answer was ....check all the other hardware as it is usually their fault in most cases...
I am not sure what else to check or how...any ideas???...I am totally stumped on this... I should be getting just as good if not better speeds both on desktop and I would think on internet...instead I am getting slower desktop function and slower internet speed...(ping) specifically
Thanks for any help you can offer
