Audio from headphone jack is distorted

Audio from headphone jack is distorted

I have an Asus aspire 5741 laptop, I have an issue with my headphone port. When I plug in any type of headphone or speaker to this port the audio that comes out is very distorted (low, no vocals) but when I unplug my headphones and play the audio from the built in speakers on my laptop the song plays fine, good quality. The audio from the headphone jack works only if I bend the headphone plug up, so I think it's a hardware issue that maybe one of the contacts are broken? If so is there any way of getting around taking the entire computer apart just to fix it? like possible heating up the socket so much that it re solders the contact?

Edit: I realized that this is most likely a hardware issue, if I should have posted it in the A+ section, my bad.
