WOW !!! This thread has been going for a looooonnnnng time, 49 pages and still going ...l. I first replied to it close to a year ago at the age of 64, I'm now 65 and have added BF2142 and COD 4 to my gaming list which was moslty BF2 (still play it) and I just built my 2nd. rigg so I can run the newer games. The first build (2 1/2 years ago) didn't handle COD 4 very well, but I'm shootin' up the landscape now. lol.
Keep the posts comin' .

I can't quite call myself a gamer (yet), but I'm 14. I, unlike some kids my age, don't think adults gaming is bad or creepy whatsoever. The fat, unshaven people going to comic book conventions wearing a superman T-shirt and cape is creepy. But actually I'm happy to know that adults game; it shows that my future might not be as humdrum and boring as it looks to be, with work, bosses, wives on constant PMS, etc. What I meant by yet is that my set-up is much to weak to actually game on (I know, I've tried.) but I've spent a lot of money and time on eBay for new parts, including a Striker Extreme motherboard, and 9800 GTX graphics card. The problem is, that my motherboard's broken, so I can't seriously game until I resolve that.
The question is not who will let me, it is who will stop me.

im 16 and i think im a farily serious gamer. im surprised to see so many of my parent's generation in here. i never thought about how wide the world of gaming was. my parents are pretty out of the gaming world and i never really could get them into it yet (gotta keep trying tho!). they are always seeming to be working. my dad is bad with technology in general and my mom just doesnt give herself enough time. i hope i dont get that way when im older but considering that i grew up with it and they didnt, and my love for gaming leads me to believe i will game till the day i'm physically incapable (hopefully thats a long time).

I am 77 and grew up in the Big Depression. As I was growing up I thought that F. D. Roosevelt would live for ever!
I refused to get a beeper and refuse now to get a cell phone. I have no need to be "wired" 24/7. If anyone wants or needs me bad enough they know where I live and my email address!
My favorite current PC game is "Bioshock", my favorite SP3 game is "Metal Gear Solid 4" [I am sorry this is the last of the series], and my favorite SPS is "Logan's Shadow."
My only regret is living this long is that my proper English usage does not bode well with fellow gammers!

I'm 19 and will always have a interest in video games, video games are a good way to vent stress and escape harsh reality( maybe for an hour or 2) but hey, games are great

I'm 19 years old and a little surprised to see such a lack of representation from my generation... The first game I ever played was Chuck Yeager's air combat. I can still remember when my dad used to have me sit on his lap and hit the space bar whenever a plane moved into the cross hairs...
