DocSK:Nice to see someone here over 50. I've got 5 years on you, at 62! Perhaps the oldest geezer on this forum. I started playing games on a Commodore 64, then an Apple II, then an original Mac (all with monochrome monitors). Anyone out there remember Pong? A truly mindless game, but occupied some of us early geeks for longer than we'll admit.
I've been working with computers since IBM punchcards, and worked for the government on the ARPA net (the original precusor to the Internet). Now mostly build my own systems, from the motherboard up. Work to much now to have time for heavy gaming, but have enjoyed Doom, Half-Life, and Halo. Have enjoyed watching the evolution of gaming from crude pixelated graphics to the current cinema-level graphics with surround sound.
I think the interactivity of gaming keeps ones mind sharp, as opposed to passive viewing of movies and TV. Computers have taken over so many aspects of healthcare, I use computer graphics every day in a large hospital. You young folks (under 25) are on the threshold of a truly interactive world, where your cell phone can now send text, graphics, data, and video to anywhere on the globe. Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and other pioneers have started a revolution that has only begun to unfold.
I'll be still gaming as long as my eyes see and my fingers twitch! Sorry for the long post, I get tired and ramble.........remember, I'm 62..
I also am 61 and still gaming. I love train sims and COD2 and BF2.

56 and still counting. 'Tis nice to see some old farts who still game besides myself! 1st computer game was a golf game using a teletype connected to a Burroughs B5500. Favorite games are FPS's, even though I've lost whatever twitch factor I used to have.

23 and I don't think we're getting too old for games, I think games are aging with us. I feel that our generation has been the target market for many of the popular games that have come out over time. Who knows though, maybe its just that the games targeted towards me are the only ones I pay attention to.
Dwight Schrute: "I was a finalist in my high school spelling bee. It was me against Raj Patel. And I mispelled, in front of the entire school, the word 'failure'."

29. I agree, gaming isn't just for kids anymore. And with an explosion in the casual games market, there are some great games out there for those of us with busy lives full of work or marriage or kids or all three. I'm a member of an adult gaming community, 21 and over only, but it's mostly geared towards console gaming, specifically Xbox Live, although we do have PC and other console fans as well. Check my sig for link and stop by and say hi

23.99999 hehehe anyways a lot of ppl understand games as things that kids do, but if u think about this is not true, hardcore gamers get in such a higher lvl of experince that they know soo much about the game that is like a coach in a sport or a general or something like that for rts players. That is not only for kids =D
