    What's your job?

Hey guys, just post what some of you do for a living.

As for me, I've worked at a celery hearts facility for about a year, and now that I'm old enough I'm looking to get a job at Circuit City. I haven't actually applied yet - is there anyone that works there that has some advice for me?

JOB: I'm a Level 3 Tech Support Rep (ISP/Digital Phone provider)... Yes... I am thee tree that gets crappeth'd upon. I deal with the "Dumbest & Meanest" people you can imagine. When you don't meet face to face, you really get to see what people are like.

Tech Support Career? HA! I'm aiming for Networking career myself. Recently aquired my CCNA and hope to begin on CCNP/CCVP.

Nothing against those who enjoy Tech Support. But people can really suck.

(Posted in a diff thread as I missed this one)

    Re: What's your job?

Yeah, people can be bad at times but there are also those times when it is hilarious.  Like the time when I found a lady stepping on her mouse because she thought the computer worked like her sewing machine.  Talk about a test of discipline.  I wanted to laugh so bad!

    Re: What's your job?

I am a fulltime CSE major at SMU who is also working on his Masters in Game Development.

I spend my weekends waiting at The Purple Cow where I have recently been promoted to Manager, and if I don't get an internship with a software developer this summer, I'll be promoted to General Manager.

I am a part time IT consultant and Director of ITS for a small real estate research firm in Dallas.  It is great money :)

I am actively seeking a career in game development.  My degrees will position towards a job as an engine designer but my goal is to be a producer.  I am currently in talks with several developers to intern this summer but nothing is set in stone yet.

Oh, and I do volunteer online customer support for Valve Corporation where my specialty is hardware.  I have been with them for two years now and it has been a great learning experience.  In fact, I got the chance to visit their HQ in Seattle last October and was able to playtest Portal :)
