well, not dead, but doesn't post. 

set up- ASUS M4A78T-E   p3 x3 720, tried 2 separate kinds of ram. ozc hpc 1333 reaper and g.skill  1333mhz  thats on the cvl, both 2x2 kits, tried all sticks individually.  corsair 650w  3 hard drives; 7200.8 and .10 and a black WD, oh and a 4770 radeon

the symptoms i've seen before.  no posting, video card's fan keeps throtling up an down, no picture,  does this with any ram stick in channel A or B, but in slot 2s it doesn't recognize any there, so when i don't have ram in it, nothing shows up but the vid card's fan starts like normal.

i've rma'd the board before because dual channel  stopped working with my ocz ram about 1 or 2 days after i put it together. and had the same problem. but worked fine in single channel.

any recommedations?  

i've called around my town to see if my cpu could be damaged, but noone has any am3 or am2+ systems.

System will no longer POST.

Yesterday, I got a new M4A78 Plus from Newegg, because I didn't want to wait for an RMA replacement from Asus, and everything is now fine. 

Are you getting any beep code when you power up?  No beeps means that the mobo is probably dead, if you get beeps, then the Asus website can tell you what the code indicates.

no beeps with the mem in , the no mem beep code with it out, i've tried everything their support site asked me to do. different mem. unhook everything but the basics.  different psu. tried reseating the cpu, cleared cmos...

 i had rma'd my board before ,dual channel ram stopped working after a day or 2, did the same thing, waiting on a second response from Asus.

 thanks for the reply. i may just end up buying another board like it if i can't get it replaced.  since it's the same chips, basically, i should beable to use a different brand and a different 700 series chipset....?  without needing to reinstall the os, right?

You will more than likely have to at least do a repair install if you are on XP.

Problem with CPU, motherboard or RAM..   Try reseating all 3.. Try one stick of RAM and try it in different slots.. Since it just started happening, it's probably a bad motherboard.. Asus boards with OCZ memory has never worked too well for me either.. I've got one motherboard where OCZ told me to set voltages that the Asus board can't even go up that high..And I've got another Asus motherboard that simply refuses to be stable with OCZ at any voltage..  The first one is an Asus M2N-E and the second one is an Asus M4A78-CM, neither are OCZ friendly. Not surprised to see your board having issues also..  In my case, BIOS updates for the M4A78-CM made OCZ memory stable, the M2N-E however, has no hope as it just won't even post at all with OCZ, even from Day 1..Asus was aware of the issue and released a BIOS update that claimed the problem was fixed, I popped the sticks back in there.. Trust me, not fixed... Some OCZ sticks supposedly work on the Asus M2N-E, however, most do not.

 For now, I'm pretty much running G.Skill across the board in all my Asus boards and having absolutely 0 issues, even when overclocked and overvolted.. Budget Asus boards just don't like OCZ for some reason, at least mine and yours don't...   I don't believe it's OCZ's fault either, it's just the budget Asus boards combined with very high performance memory is a bad mix that creates all sorts of problems.. I'm not sure if the Asus boards are trying to be smart by attempting the higher timings / speeds even if they can't output the voltages or what.. But something is definitely wrong in Asus's QA in that they're not even looking at compatibility issues with OCZ as, from what I've seen, it's a serious problem.

The higher end ASUS boards run OCZ with no problems at all.. Very frustrating..
