    Not an experience I relished.

This isn't exactly an experience I relished, and makes me wonder if I should continue my purchases with newegg, over several hundred dollars on multiple items, I might add. To start off, I'll explain my situation. I am part of a gaming community called MFG. There are 4 founders, and just below that is an admin, which is myself. About 6 weeks ago one of the founders went offline, and we all later found out that his computer had been stolen. So, this past week the 3 other founders, and myself, all pooled money into my paypal account, in the amount of $520, to purchase this computer. Computer clicky . We then sent the money to his paypal as a big surprise, and he purchased the computer on Newegg.Yesterday morning I wake up to find that my paypal account has been suspended, due to the belief that my friend had actually stolen the money from me, on behalf of paypal. Very irritated, I finally got ahold of paypal (after listening to their "You're on hold listen to our great features" message, which said something along the lines of "If you need to pool money into an account to gift to a friend, we encourage that", where I was told that I had absolutely no choice but to resolve it through their website. Mind you, the computer at newegg has already been paid for, and we even recieved and email that it was being shipped. I submitted, along with the receipient of the computer, all the things that paypal required. In the mean-time, they decided to contact new egg, AFTER the money was out of the account, and void the delivery. So not only did we lose the chance to get this to him before the weekend, which was VERY crucial, but I was later informed, after spending 45 + minutes on live chat, that he would not get the money back into his paypal for 3-5 business days from newegg. So now, not only are the 5 of us who contributed sort of out on the money with absolutely no immediate result, but it's also going to take a while before my friend is refunded the money, and then able to purchase the computer again. What's ironic about all of this is that we even purchased rush order processing and 1 day delivery. This isn't exactly a rant, I just want my problem to be stated, and ask the users of Newegg what it is that I should think about this experience? If this had happened in a real-world business, and not online, I would be DEMANDING some sort of reimburstment for the trouble me and the others have gone through. I've purcahsed quite a few things from Newegg, RAM, Graphics cards, Mobo's, I've done several builds off of parts from newegg and I've never had this problem. I just want to ask, what's the deal?

Re: Not an experience I relished.

Sounds to me that PayPal is the culprit here the way you explained it, not Newegg.

Mind you, the computer at newegg has already been paid for, and we even recieved and email that it was being shipped. I submitted, along with the receipient of the computer, all the things that paypal required. In the mean-time, they decided to contact new egg, AFTER the money was out of the account, and void the delivery.

But as FatboyHD said Dom-Dom can help get the newegg side straight but paypal I don't know about them11

Re: Not an experience I relished.

    Hey, Goshawk here!

I am a Founder of the clan Maulth is speaking of. Like Maulth has said, this experience has been a nightmare. I definitely agree with this being mostly Paypal's fault.

However, I will be contacting Dom_Dom to see if Newegg can pull its usual magic to save the day :D!

I've always been incredibly happy with neweggs customer service. They tend to go above and beyond (unlike paypal.... who just wants my money.. lol).

Anyway, Thanks for the quick responses!

Re: Not an experience I relished.

Next time, you guys can just buy prepaid VISA cards for him to buy his cards with. Or better yet, everyone buy him a Newegg gift certificate. He can use all 4 to buy his parts.

    RAWR!

Probably would have been a better idea. I am DONE with paypal. They can go *^*(&%&%#$@^*&^&()*&*(^()^&()& themselves... enter your own imaginative curses there.....

Re: Not an experience I relished.

Well I'm sure he'd fix our problem amazingly... if he replied....

I sense paypal at work here again... They never quit do they. I'm pretty sure paypal had our friends newegg account banned. And dom-dom is probably not authorized to speak about banned accounts. Seriously, screw paypal.

Re: Not an experience I relished.

Any newegg employees reading this? Because its rather ridiculous that paypal can effect your customers like this. We wanted to buy a computer for a friend. Paypal screwed it up. And you guys are taking 3-5 business days to give us the funds back.

From a company that I have such respect for (newegg), I did not see this coming.

Re: Not an experience I relished.

hey dude,,it's the weekend bro, he may not reply 'till monday, or he may hop in here at any time,,, but being an employee of NewEgg, he works mon-fri and helps people with just your sort of problem so have a little patience, iffen it was during the week he would have got right on it and besides, it's a paypal thing, i would be all over them like stink on ****,,,but whatever, when DoM_DoM sees this he will help y'all outWink

EDIT: 3 to 5 days is normal for money return, don't forget your bank/cc company aren't real quick on posting back to your account either
