Re: SLi GTX 280s PSU opinion

The funny thing about it is if I check the airflow coming out the back of my case, it feels slightly cool as opposed to having any abnormal heat amounts.  After I get my paper for college finished when I get home from work, I will do some more reasearch on the issue.

There is also a program called OCCT I have tried after recommendation from one of my friends.  I'll try it again after work as it is designed for quad core procs.

Re: SLi GTX 280s PSU opinion

it appears that i cannot run two GTX280s at the same time. when i am in SLi mode and i try to run a game, it stutters for 10 seconds then the primary video card light goes orange and the screen goes black. i have to do a hard reboot after that. do you guy think this is a PSU problem or something else?

Re: SLi GTX 280s PSU opinion

It could be sounds like either you have a multi rail psu, and your rails are mixed up. Or you have a single rail psu and somewhere the gtx is just eating up the power. I looked through the thread which psu did you end up getting?

Hey, I'm New here but i contacted SilverStone about this question, (with the future of possibly upgrading to a third GTx 280, or the new 4870x2s)

    they reccomended the SilverStone ZM1200W

It's sort of pricey, maybe thats why silverstone reccomended it..

i have the OCZ EliteXStream 800W. it's a monorail with 62A. btw, the cards are from different manufacturers. that's not supposed to make a diff, though is it?

i put my specs in my sig.Smile
