    DDR3 speed question

I want to put DDR3 memory into my new computer, but had a question about DDR3 / mobo speed.  If I buy a motherboard that says it supports DDR3 2000 Memory, does that mean I can put DDR3 1600 in it?  Or Put DDR3 1333 into a DDR3 1600 slot, etc...

    I am strictly talking DDR3, not DDR2.

    thanks!

    Re: DDR3 speed question

Yes, in fact, most motherboards that support higher than DDR3-1600 need to be overclocked.

From everything that I've been seeing, that's what I expected.

    Thanks!
